Denim for guys with (big) thighs

Nov 24, 2008 @ 02:08
For those that have APC NS, are you put off by the lack of a tapered leg opening?

From recent pics I've seen, NS look good, but PS are good too, I heard.

the APC NS is tapered and I'm fine with the leg opening.. maybe there is a rare occassion while wearing cons, vans, or so forth it drags to the ground.. but hardly that happens though..

The PS is definately a slimmer/more tapered fit at the leg.. i cant speak for myself since i dont own a PS but from what im gathering as a general consensus that the PS is a slimmer/tapered fit than the NS..

i say size down two for either or since APC stretches out a whole lot and youre banking on that to help those big thighs..

Simple question, but how is the leg opening on Samurai 0500s? I'm looking for a slight taper that looks decent with Authentics and other lows. Should I size up/down any or stay true if I want a neither tight nor baggy fit?

Dudes with big thighs should not wear slim fitting or severely tapered denim, not hating but it looks dumb and makes your bodies look even wider.

Please stick with straight fit denim if you're a bigger guy.
Nov 24, 2008 @ 12:35
good thread. i was a 38 then 36 now i am a 33 soo im wondering if i should get APCs NS or flatheads. for some reason it is hard to lose weight in the thigh area.
Nov 25, 2008 @ 23:05
It is indeed hard.

I think it's best to lose weight overall. Maybe just that extra fat loss will finally make the thighs slimmer.

In certain circumstances, yes. As long as the denim is not skin tight in any particular region it's fine to wear (goes for people of all body shapes). A slim, tapered pair of jeans sized up to be slightly less form fitting can actual portray a much more toned physique. A baggier fit for a large fellow can more often than not give the illusion that he's more overweight/sloppy than his actual true to form physical stature. I plucked that from a GQ article on picking correctly sized denim.

My legs are ripped as hell from playing soccer since I was four. I've found that A.P.C NS sized down two was my best option. They stretched out great around the calf area which is where most of my problems arise.

I'm not fat, but I have slightly larger legs then most ppl here which keeps me from having the look that I like.

I suggest not getting skin-tight slim cuts.

I got a little bit looser fitting slim fit Levis 514s (if that makes sense), and I don't have hip flare yet.

It usually happens when the jeans are too tight. If it happens, it looks ugly/awkward as fuck. It happened with my Levis 520s, and I haven't worn them since.

measurements for WESC KELVIN size 33:
waist 33"
thigh 11.5"
knee 8.5"
leg opening 7.5"
front rise 12"
back rise 15.5"
inseam about 34"-35"

11.5" at thigh may seem small but since it has a low rise, it will give you some space.

I got ^ those for sale and like 5 pairs of Levi 514 some brand new, some lightly worn for sale also if anyone is interested.

I'll post some tomorrow. Unfortunately I spilled spicy queso dip on them so I had to soak them.

I've also had alot of success with 501xx STF however I don't have any in my current rotation.

I want to get a pair of Dior's however I don't have the privilege of living in a state where they are readily available and purchasing jeans online is always hard unless you really research the product.

I heard that all problems with thighs are nonexistent after copping a pair or Diors.

Apparently, that's the case for Ryan(FBaby).

thread for fat boy jeans
there will never be such a thread because they don not make "fancy" jeans for big/fat/morbidly obese peoples with style. I'm 6'2 275lbs wear a 40w and a 30 inseam. Levi STF are pretty much the only option. So don't cry when u can up size and then tailor down.

If someone knows a brand lemme know, other wise i think fat people of the world should unite and form our own super exclusive "dry/raw/selvedge/Ecuadorian denim/gold stitching fancy pants" label.

oh and don't get me started about testicle impingement via denim.

PEACE

and just so u know this should be read with a little sarcasm and a doobie. blushing

the nudie easy emil is a great fit for people who need room in the thighs, same with the nudie fast freddys. the fast freddys are super relaxed though. the n&f weird guys might work, but i've seen where it was too tight in the thigh area.
Dec 25, 2009 @ 01:13
just got some APC NS sized down 1-2. pics later
Dec 28, 2009 @ 15:17

no shit, I'm the same exact size...

my thighs are around 22 inches, fairly big. I got them from weightlifting and stuff...

I just bought a size 29 APC NS and I'm hoping the thighs aren't to tight.

Im the same size too! I got size 30 NC, one down. Pretty pleased with how they stretched out.
