I am going to go out on a limb here and say the reason why you think it looks retarded is because the denim is still new.

give it a couple of weeks and the stacks should settle nicely.

Don't send them back. They need to soften up a bit for the stacks to look somewhat ok. Wear them a couple of days and the stacks will look fine after a while.. Also they aren't overkill so you don't need to worry about ugly stacks.

hey guys, i think i made the mistake of getting my pbj-xx013s hemmed too short (i got em done in-store) down to a 34. i'm 5'7" (long, fucking skinny legs though) and i want to soak them to avoid future stretching, and what not. however, i don't want them to lose too much length on the inseam. will drying them upside down help? should i attempt to weigh them while upside down and drying?

the alternative is to just not do a presoak, but i don't want the waist to stretch out after wear

Wait...you hemmed them before a presoak??? You fucked up but I guess if its just the waist that you need shrinkage in you can just leave the legs out of the tub while you soak the waist. I dont really know how to help you without it shrinking your inseam.

The denim is going to stretch with wear regardless of whether you soak or not. The purpose of soaking before wearing for this kind of denim, aside from extending the longevity of the garment, is to ensure that your fades don't move out of place after the first wash. Soaking really doesn't have much to do with stretching.

How long of an inseam do you need? You'll lose about 2-3" off of the current length if you soak hot, but maybe only 1" or less if you soak cold and keep all of your future washes cold, avoiding the tumble dryer as well.

yeah man, dude at blue in green told me to just go with a cold soak. i think that's what i'm gonna do and dry them upside down. i'm just so used to sanforized selvedge, that i forgot the inseam would shrink. oh well!

One wash does not mean that they are sanforized. The sanforization process is different from a pair of unsanforized denim being soaked/washed. The denim is treated prior to being sold. What is considered unsanforized remains unsanforized even after being shrunk.

PBJ denim is known for being slubby, the only PBJ model that I've ever seen that wasn't really slubby is the first collaboration they did with Take 5 (not the 10th anniversary collab).

The 24 oz. PBJs also appear to be less slubby than the regular models, but I haven't handled them firsthand, so I couldn't tell you for sure.

Sanforization is completely different from soaking or washing, it is performed with steam and hot rollers and does not involve submerging the fabric at all.

It is also performed on the raw fabric before the garment is sewn together, whereas a one-wash is performed on a completed garment.

Yeah, the SEXI14 is what I'm working on right now. I like the looks of the PBJ but I'd like something with a different texture. Does anyone know anything about the left hand twill XX-011's at BiG right now?
