Does anyone know if resoaking just the knee down is a bad idea? I'm trying to get a more shrinkage in the inseam and a lil in the leg opening.

you should just post pics as they are right now, It sounds odd that you want a shorter inseam when it measures 35" and your 6'2"

I thought that 35" would be too small

It's not a bad idea, but it probably won't make a huge difference either if you've soaked already.

oh.. well i think ima just send them back in today to get a hem cuz the stacks dont really look good.
July 11, 2011 @ 14:34:22
Well you have to let the stacks settle, maybe thats the problem, you should post pics reguardless before you send em to get hemmed

^ those stack ok I dont think u need it hemmed
July 11, 2011 @ 17:11:50
lose those sloppy ass cuffs
July 11, 2011 @ 21:01:55
it looks retarded if i dont cuff..
July 11, 2011 @ 21:17:58
I am going to go out on a limb here and say the reason why you think it looks retarded is because the denim is still new.

give it a couple of weeks and the stacks should settle nicely.
July 11, 2011 @ 22:09:54
Don't send them back. They need to soften up a bit for the stacks to look somewhat ok. Wear them a couple of days and the stacks will look fine after a while.. Also they aren't overkill so you don't need to worry about ugly stacks.

^^ Nice

i wish i had evo pics to post but i can only wear my pbjs once in a while because of the fucken heat...
August 23, 2011 @ 22:01:49
hey guys, i think i made the mistake of getting my pbj-xx013s hemmed too short (i got em done in-store) down to a 34. i'm 5'7" (long, fucking skinny legs though) and i want to soak them to avoid future stretching, and what not. however, i don't want them to lose too much length on the inseam. will drying them upside down help? should i attempt to weigh them while upside down and drying?

the alternative is to just not do a presoak, but i don't want the waist to stretch out after wear
August 23, 2011 @ 22:03:24
That is kind of a big mistake. Soak them and just weight them down, but see what other people have to say.
August 24, 2011 @ 03:03:00
Wait...you hemmed them before a presoak??? You fucked up but I guess if its just the waist that you need shrinkage in you can just leave the legs out of the tub while you soak the waist. I dont really know how to help you without it shrinking your inseam.

I was at BiG, and i was in only in NYC for a weekend. It was for free

The denim is going to stretch with wear regardless of whether you soak or not. The purpose of soaking before wearing for this kind of denim, aside from extending the longevity of the garment, is to ensure that your fades don't move out of place after the first wash. Soaking really doesn't have much to do with stretching.

How long of an inseam do you need? You'll lose about 2-3" off of the current length if you soak hot, but maybe only 1" or less if you soak cold and keep all of your future washes cold, avoiding the tumble dryer as well.

yeah man, dude at blue in green told me to just go with a cold soak. i think that's what i'm gonna do and dry them upside down. i'm just so used to sanforized selvedge, that i forgot the inseam would shrink. oh well!

n00b when it comes to PBJ's here so help me out. Raw is unsanforized and one-wash is sanforized like APC?

Also, which models come in a non-slubby texture? Already have a pair of slubby imperials and I want a smooth pair.

Slub is PBJs bread and butter
September 05, 2011 @ 23:11:04
Their one-wash jeans are already shrunken with that, so no point for them to sanforize.
September 05, 2011 @ 23:52:24
