I have a 31.5 true waist

Would buying a used pair of 005's, sz. 29 be too tight? The guy says its stretched out to a 31 now

It might be too tight. Sizing down 2 on that cut gives a really slim fit. Going 2 1/2 sizes down is probably asking for trouble. I'd probably go with a 30 if I were you.

@fatbro i have the same waist as you and i just went down .5 and got 31's on my 005's. i haven't really noticed stretching unless i don't wear a belt, everywhere else generally stayed the same.

^Fatbro, it really depends on your legs. In terms of waist PBJs are fine, but the thighs on 005/007 can be tight if you have muscular legs and the rise on PBJs are IMO killer.

^It's hard to compare two great jeans. Flatheads have a nice vertical fading effect and PBJs have the slub. If you want to save a little bit of money go for the PBJs.

i've heard pbj's fade relatively fast... assuming close to daily wear on a pair of one wash 011's, how often should i soak/wash?

It's a low rise jean, those tend to be crotch killers.

I think the construction quality is a little bit better on Flat Heads, but the denim has a little more character on PBJs, and PBJs cost less.

if you want your pbj to fade fast don't get one wash ones. They are unbreakable. I'm going to NY next week Im planning to cop either XX-011 or XX-007

i've owned both PBJ and Samurai, material wise Samurai is way more durable, but size and fit wise PBJ fits me a lot better.

if i have the one wash, i'm guessing i probably won't need to soak in the first 6 months?

Samurai is better in construction quality than PBJ. Where you see the difference the most obviously is in the stitching. Samurai uses heavier, more durable stitching thread than PBJs do. I've owned a couple of pairs of Samurai and a couple of PBJs, and the stitching broke a lot faster on the PBJs for me than they did on the Samurais in all cases.

Right. If you are getting the one-wash, you don't have to soak at all. You can just wash them when they get dirty.
