I bought a pair of 501xx STFs the other day in size 30/30 and there's still some room on my waist so I'm thinking of soaking them to shrink them.

I searched and read a few threads including this one, but I'm still confused on what to do. I'm reading some people wear them in a hot shower so the jeans will shrink to their body size and some just soak them in hot water. Is there a difference in the results after they dry? I just bought them 2 days ago, but want them to shrink a bit, so if I soak them, will I still be able to form honeycombs and get a fade? Also, soaking won't have a dramatic color loss right?

Also I like the feel of the "stiffness" of the jeans right now, but if I soak them will they soften up? (I don't like jeans feeling "soft")

Dont call me stupid but yesterday. I went to khols for some plates. I'm walking down the aisle to checkout and I see a levis sign. I turn and bam. Racks of hella fire. I coped like 2 pair for 38 each. Very superior.

I'm going to assume they were regular ol' 501 STF's and not what he's looking for.

Stupid.

They used to carry LVC 1947 online, but for some reason they've stopped. You can usually find them at Levis retail stores (not the outlets). LVC 1947 run about $150ish. I bought mine on sale during Friends & Family for $130ish.

Great, I live in Ohio so I was positive that they wouldn't have a Levi store around here, but they also don't have any in Indianapolis, which is where I'm going tomorrow... How/where can I get jeans similar to those? And in between 100 to 150 price range? Thanks for the responses btw.

I just grabbed a pair of skinny 511s from Macy's for $19.99 at Southdale Mall in Mpls, MN. Marked $36.99, rang up cheaper. Damn good deal check them out if you've got a Macy's around.

Ok guys I need some help.

I tried on 511 skinny's today and liked the all around fit for a 33 waist. Meaning the calves, thighs, etc. Only problem is if I try sagging, I can't button it. I can only button it at my waist.

This is similar to that one guy in the APC thread (Dougie) who couldn't button his jeans but the overall fit, fit well.

My question is... has anyone had this experience? I know they will stretch... I just want to be reassured that they will stretch enough to where I can sag with them and will be able to button them. Not enormous sagging. Just wearing them a little more at the hips as opposed to the waist.

Hope I was clear. Thanks in advance for all replies.

Hmm.. Seeing as when you wash them, they'll stretch. maybe you should just get the 33. or you can just size up 1.

since 511s are barely raw, will they bleed onto your shoes?

Yes, the rigid models still tend to bleed indigo.

Right, the ones I got were marked $36.99 but they rang up at $19.99. I was ready to pay the higher price and was surprised.

Yeah I tried on the 34 waist but it's just too baggy around the calves and legs for my liking. But yeah, I think I'll go with the 33's because they should stretch eventually. I mean, I can already button them at the waist razz

Thanks.

96Bulls just buy them and rock 'em with a belt for a while. They'll stretch like ass and you'll be able to comfortably wear 'em in no time.

Also whoever asked if the Rigids bleed: I haven't gotten shit on any of my shoes with the two pairs I've had (511s and now 510s).

Good looks bro. I'm going to go ahead and do that.

everyone asking about lvc saddlemans...i have been looking for months.

i went to my levis store many times looking for them, and they never had them. sure enough i went back randomly and they had one pair of 30's left, which is too small for me. I had her to a stock check, where she checks EVERY levis store in the country and one store in california showed they had a pair of 34s. Sure enough i called and they did not.

I did buy a pair on this site which where too small so i had to sell. Your best bet is here or superfuture. I have never seen them in macys or any other place besides a levis store or a denim botique.

does anyone know how often they get released?

Either size down on 514s since the waist will stretch mad or size up on 511s like a bunch of peeps on these forums.

On the buying them online and getting them to Canada, can't help ya.

i got 511 skinny 29x29 and the waist stretched like crazy after wash
i suggest sizing down

How'd they fit when you first got them? Did you wear them at your waist, or below your waist?

I saw a bike messenger with a pair of levis on. Looked really nice.
He had one of these in his back pocket and it showed a nice wear.

511s are too skinny so what are better 514s or 520s

514 = slim straight
520 = slouch skinny

520s have a ridiculous taper, and they stretch badly after a few wears.

514s have huge leg openings, but you can taper them.
