The Official Levi's Thread

i've had a pair for over 12 months, wore 'em in etc etc and washed, nothing, wouldn't budge.
i think it has something to do with the water resistance or whatever?
plus they're not as thick/stiff as normal raws either i guess
maybe wear and wash more frequently, might get them "vintage fades" happening, lol

Im actually trying to place an order to Canada right now from UO and they don't have an option to ship to Canada for Levis items.

Can anyone please help me out with an online pickup?

PM me if you can.

yo, i just copped me some levis 508s - regular fit tapered "best of red tab". got the from a sale rack and didnt really find much info online about them.

here they are

they feel stiff and look raw, but are they raw? or are they rigid? do this bitches fade well? do they need a soak?

thanks!
Jan 23, 2013 @ 19:42
They're probably raw, do they say waterless on any tag? You don't have to soak them. Just wear the crap out of me and don't wash for a while.

they have waterless tag, which means that they have used less water in the manufacturing process i suppose. i do like to soak my raws though, so if they are raw, why not to soak?

edit: thanks man

So I've tried for like a year to get a slim fit, rigid trucker jacket. Finally, Levis had Smalls in stock on the website, so I bought it immediately. Now, two days later, the order was cancelled and they're out of stock again. Anyone know where I can find one? There's this:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0052I1RHU/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
but I have no idea if it's slim fit or not.

You missed out on their sale. I bought two, and returned both of them. I'm sure they'll restock soon. Otherwise, there's a few on eBay.

Any info on where I could find japanese levi denim for a decent price? Sorry if this is redundant.
Feb 03, 2013 @ 16:41
Levi's, the most American brand in the world, has Japanese jeans...?

Can you be more specific in what you're looking for?

Idk if this has already been discussed but whats the best set of levis for the more skinny/slim ? I don't wanna cop a new set and end up taking them back cos they flare at the bottom or some shit
Feb 14, 2013 @ 00:16
I have Levi's higher quality branches ( Levi's Vintage Collection & Made + Crafted Collection ) which boast their highest offerings of denims and fits. They're all brand new, and practically half off..some are made with japanese kuriko denim, italian denim, or usa cone mills denim. Hit me up, and check out the thread below.

Made and Crafted stuff is super legit. Too bad none of that stuff is my size.

Anyone know which year the LVC 501z 1954 without the back pocket stitchings are from?
Feb 27, 2013 @ 01:07
I'm a size 30 in 520s, and those aren't as tight as 511s, so I'll probably be a 32-33 in 511s.

Which would look really gay on me.
you size up once on 511s for a slim fit, tts for a tighter fit. anything more than that, just get a different model

be careful what you pretend to be

Anyone have any idea how to fade the overall denim on the Commuter Line without losing the water-resistant part? Or am I at a completely loss here.

No.

Mar 05, 2013 @ 00:01
are selvedge STF 501s still available?
Mar 20, 2013 @ 14:38
they're going to naturally fade as you ride ... assuming you ride. although i'm not sure the general audience the commuter line is aimed for is necessarily buying these for sick fades.
Mar 24, 2013 @ 23:51
I recently bought a pair of sta prest 513 30 x 30 from UO and the waist area is way too tight. Any way i can stretch them out or should i just return?
Mar 25, 2013 @ 01:58
Might as well return em and buy a size that fits better if you can

Theyre all sold out. I really like em its just that the waist is about 2 sizes too small

Are Levis STF 501's "Raw" denim? If so, can anyone help me understand why most of the other Raw denim jeans, people say to size down on but STF you size up on?

Is STF the same raw denim as others? I mean not literally the EXACT same, but the same qualities?

Just trying to understand more of the difference.

Just trying to understand more of the difference.
I'll try to help you out.
First, look at the definition for raw denim.
Then, look up difference between Sanforized, and Unsanforized fabric.
Lastly, do some research on tagged sizing, and vanity sizing.
That should answer all your questions.

Those are a few vocabulary that's essential to anyone interested in denim.

Apr 16, 2013 @ 17:58
Thanks for the response Slap. I know what all of those terms mean. So are you saying that most of the non Levi Raw denims are sanforized and the STF's are not? Or? Knowing those terms does not really tell me.
Are you saying many of the more expensive raw denims are vanity fit?

Please elaborate?

Thanks

should be raw but definitely not selvedged so it will take more wears for fading to show. i have a pair and ive been wearing them for a year before i started noticing some real fades. havent washed them yet
