If you wash them with detergent, they will definitely shrink back down to normal size if not tighter. Inside out and line dry - if there still too big do a hot soak and machine dry, but be warned this might make them FAR too small.

I will try this once I get more wear on them, thanks

Okay so I have been wearing my STFs for a lonnnnngggggg time and they stretched a lot is there any way to shrink them again without tapering???

Did you shrink them initially? I'm assuming you did the whole STF process and most of the shrinkage is gone.

Denim is always gonna stretch back out. It'll contract some once it hits some hot water and will shrink even moreso if you didn't get all the shrinkage out in the beginning. However, after they shrink they'll stretch out again with a few wears.

Yeah I did the initial soak, but after it stretched back out it looks bigger than the pre-initial soak

If it's too big for your liking, do a soak. How long did you wear it for?

Quick question. I'm a little confused between the rigid, Stf, and unwashed color on the amazon site. What's the difference?

What is the difference between Raw, Rigid, Dry, and Washed denim?

* Raw denim is what you buy when you buy your new 501xx Shrink to Fits. This cotton denim has been completely untreated and unwashed which is why it will shrink so much during the first soak. It has a lighter hue than after the soak.
* Rigid and Dry denim are the same as far as I can tell. They are similar to the soaked STFs. Basically they are still quite stiff and will continue to shrink and change over time with washing but are much closer to the size they will remain. They may be stiff but in no time they will feel quite comfortable. Many jeans companies sell rigid jeans including wrangler for a similar price point and other for considerably more.
* Washed and Pre-washed 501′s have essentially been machine washed before you bought them. They feel like most jeans you have bought and worn in the past.

Thanks for the info, but I already know what the differences between raw rigid etc.. I've owned a pair apc's for a while. I'm confused on how they labeled their colors on the amazon site.

One color is labeled rigid stf at 37$ and the other color is stf at 50$. I'm wondering what the difference is between the two labeled colors or if there isn't. Because essentially they look the same and I'm wondering if they mislabeled the denim

You're a bit off here...

* Dry/Raw denim - Pretty much the same thing. That means the denim is unwashed after the dyeing process.
* Unsanforized and sanforized - Unsanforized denim means it has been untreated and will shrink upon soak. Sanforized denim is pre-treated and means it's gone through the sanforizing process and nearly all the shrinkage is gone.
* Rigid denim is a term some companies use to describe their dark washed denim. Not raw, but still able to give you minimal fading due to the denim being dyed darker. Definitely not the same as raw denim.

Pics of my recently soaked STF. Sized down 1, 31x34.

are these the black or indigo wash? thats a good fit man

true waist size ( get a ruler and measure) and +2 to length.
size down 1 for slimmer fit.
