went to the Levis Outlet today and they had STF 501s $10 off making them $24.99. if anyone is looking for a pair they never go on sale at retail stores so $24.99 is pretty g0od

true waist size ( get a ruler and measure) and +2 to length.
size down 1 for slimmer fit.

i'm still loving them man, they are very comfortable now. not as tight but still a slim fit. i'm about a month in- wallet fade/honeycombs/whiskers are all coming in very nicely.
i'll post pics when i get around the 2 month mark so you can see the progress.

how are yours coming along?

I got two pair of stf's ,one indigo and one black pair in 32*36. I soaked the indogos and the inseam shrunk about 4 inches. Should i expect the same from the blacks? I heard black denim doesnt shrink as much...

Would you still get the same affect without actually soaking 501stf's? Just wearing them how you bought it.

Yeah, you'll get the same affect. There have been people who have done this. The biggest hassle that you'll run into is making sure they never get wet...cuz once they get wet, they'll shrink up and its game ovahhhhh

It wouldn't be advised to not soak them before you wear them. Firstly, the fit of the jeans will look and feel horrible. Plus you will have to buy a perfect fit size meaning you will never wash the jeans since they shrink very significantly. Also if compensate for a bigger size and wear the jeans and then decide to soak them, your honeycombs and fades will be ruined due to the shrinkage of the jeans.

I do not see any benefits with not soaking the STFs when you purchase them. As a healthy pair of jeans need to be soaked to prevent crotch blow outs. Also when your pair of jeans get dirty, you will definitely want to wash them.

not pre-soaking stf is a horrible idea, they fade and wear just fine after the soak

I see. Is there a way to not shrink the waist size? And if I were to size up, I can just go one up from what I usually wear, instead of TTS, right?

Sizing on STF are very confusing. Levi's advises you to size up 1 on the waist and 3 on the length. However I've found that the waist does not shrink significantly.

If you're looking for a straight leg type fit, I'd stay TTS on width and size up 3 on the length.
(Personally I found that even after a couple of soaks, the jeans were too loose for my liking.)

If you're looking for a slimmer fit, I would size down 1 on the waist and +3 on the length. After the soak the waist will stretch back out fairly quickly. (This is the route I took.) hypebeast.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2656025&postcount=4773

Does anyone know the difference between 29x29 Levi's 510s for adults, and the size 18 (29x29) Levi's Kids 510, if there is any? They're half the price of the adult ones so I'm wondering why. My sister said the legs on the kids ones might be wider?

Obviously, I'm not very fast with denim. I'm looking on Amazon and I'm not even sure what to get (looking at 501 STF's). On the Levi site I see: 501

Sure. Which measurements? I can tell you off the top of my head I got them tapered to a 7.5", and I asked her to start the taper higher because it was super baggy.

Has anyone been wearing those Kaihara Selvedge Matchstick's? I'd be curious to see how they look with some wear.
