501 are pretty straight fit, nah man I just borrowed that camera. It's all about your size of your body/legs, for me I got thick legs (no homo) so it might look slimmer.

Thanks for the help.

One more question, what is the leg opening on them? The site says 17 and a half and that just left me with "Wait what?" expression.

How did you get this slim fit?

Unless your thighs are huge, I'd stick with true to size in waist instead of going up 2. STF don't shrink as much as they claim to. But def go up 3 in length. First initial soak the length shrinks a lot.

Otherwise you can try going about it in nostalgia's way. It looks like a great fit cool .

i don't believe they make saddlemans any more. you're best bet would probably be ebay, or another forum member

Just got some Levi's 510 about 2-3 weeks ago, I hear they shrink after soaking, since they aren't sanforized, and I know they aren't really "raw" but just "rigid" but, should I soak them before anymore wear or will the fading process be better without the soak? Does it even matter?

I wear 511s, 501s, and 505s.

Do 511s shrink in waist if you put them in the dryer?

They slightly shrink, but stretch back out.

Only some 511s have 1% spandex and 510s have 2% spandex, sometimes 1%

these are my sized down stfs, post soak w/ maybe 2 days of wear...

presoak, it was nearly impossible to button all the buttons. it definitely took some dedication. i bucket soaked in hot water for about 30 minutes, then i hand stretched the waist out and showered in them for about 20 minutes. i wore them until dry.
i'm pretty indifferent when it comes to these stfs.

opinions?

picked up a pair of Made & Crafted jeans this weekend (Sparkys or something, I forget the exact name)... they might be my new go-to pair to replace the selvedge Helmut Lang's i've been wearing for a few years.

the wash on them is almost perfect, and they're a really good quality denim too. the HL's i had were almost identical, but the denim seemed a little thinner, and therefore wore out a lot faster. I had one pair go from new to unwearable in under a year. Hopefully the Levi's don't do the same.

price was def right too, which is a plus
