I think it looks good. No need to size up imo.

I agree.

I wear 511s, 501s, and 505s.

Do 511s shrink in waist if you put them in the dryer?

They slightly shrink, but stretch back out.

i think 510 and 511 has 1% spandex for stretch so you should be fine. correct me if im wrong.

Only some 511s have 1% spandex and 510s have 2% spandex, sometimes 1%

these are my sized down stfs, post soak w/ maybe 2 days of wear...

presoak, it was nearly impossible to button all the buttons. it definitely took some dedication. i bucket soaked in hot water for about 30 minutes, then i hand stretched the waist out and showered in them for about 20 minutes. i wore them until dry.
i'm pretty indifferent when it comes to these stfs.

opinions?

Aug 15, 2010 @ 22:56
Fit really looks too small and uncomfortable
Aug 15, 2010 @ 22:57

picked up a pair of Made & Crafted jeans this weekend (Sparkys or something, I forget the exact name)... they might be my new go-to pair to replace the selvedge Helmut Lang's i've been wearing for a few years.

the wash on them is almost perfect, and they're a really good quality denim too. the HL's i had were almost identical, but the denim seemed a little thinner, and therefore wore out a lot faster. I had one pair go from new to unwearable in under a year. Hopefully the Levi's don't do the same.

price was def right too, which is a plus

what do yall think about the Clot Survival 505

not gunna lie, I kinda like the way they look
Aug 17, 2010 @ 08:32
they're perfect for japanese hype, other than that - not sure what to say.
Aug 17, 2010 @ 09:48
ya they dope but im more into a hard denim instead of a washed jean
Aug 17, 2010 @ 10:38
I think the patches kinda ruin them.
Aug 17, 2010 @ 12:52

i mean i guess the fit of the survivors are nice
but im still ehh about the overuse of the patches
Aug 19, 2010 @ 22:17
Had these 501's for about 2 months but just got them tapered

You serious? gtfo
Aug 20, 2010 @ 00:02
@Quan. That is the worst fit I have ever seen on 501s. You make them look like 550s, which are pretty baggy, painter jeans that Levi's discountinued
Aug 20, 2010 @ 00:09
nah im sorry yall but I like em baggier like this.
Aug 20, 2010 @ 06:06
^ windex.
Aug 20, 2010 @ 10:54
Thanks for the info.
Gonna lay off my Unbrandeds and work on these.

- measure your true waist (not what your jeans tag says) and then subtract 2 to 3" for the waist
- for the inseam add 2 to 3"...generally for 32 inseam I would get 34"
Aug 20, 2010 @ 16:20
^ thanks guys. I'll post fits after I pick them up.

arent you supposed to add to the waist since they shrink?
Aug 20, 2010 @ 23:28
^ lol that's what Levi's advice is. It ends up being baggy that way. A good fit is TTS as the waist doesnt shrink too much. Definately would not advise going down 2 to 3'' as bull.flag is suggesting.. blinkyeyes
