so since the arcs are painted on (which i think is stupid) that means that the arcs will fade then right? I mean you could eventually end up with a pair of levis with no arcs?

yup, im gonna figure out away to get em off w/o damaging the denim

the reason the arc's are painted on was to go for the 'vintage' look. during world war 2, there was obviously a supply shortage, and that was the reason the arcs were being painted on jeans. when i heard this, i wasn't as against the painted on arcs. although i would still like to remove them.

I think faded painted arcuates can look good and give the denim a nice broken in look.

Found some lvc 1947 501s (STF) on sale for $155. I tried a 34/34 on in the store (im usually a 33/32) and they fit surprisingly well preshrinkage. Length was obviously too long, but there was only a little room in the waist/seat/thighs. Is it a bad move to buy these? I'm afraid theyll shrink to be too small and I'm looking for a classic/fit (ie not too tight)

Considering LVC 47 used to retail in Levi's store for 175, you didn't really find a good deal. Now if these are the NEW NEW LVC 47s from this season which are typically closer 200-250 range, it might be a good deal. Could probably find it cheaper on ebay. Also, if you look at my fit pic, that is after one hot soak. Pre-soak, the fit was nearly got dam perfect. In hindsight I shouldve gotten one size up but Im happy with the fit as is now.

I heard LVC 1947 501 Rigid jeans were STF and that I should size up two. I am a true size 30 waist, ya'll suggest I size up to a 32 waist?

I'm trying to get a fit similar to this dude:

im not sure but when i did try looking up sizing information on 1947s i read that they'd shrink 2 but then strech back up 1. but i don't know if that applies to all 1947s because i don't own any : (

Has anyone purchased any pieces from the new work wear collection on the website right now? I ordered the panel pants in rigid selvedge and they're really great. Awesome quality, triple stitching, great selvedge line. The fit is nice. A little slimmer in the top block and the leg than my usual 501's. I also ordered the 201's in rigid selvedge and brick red canvas. Looking forward to getting them to see how the fit is. I don't have enough posts, or else I'd post pictures.

Post some pics once you reach the reqs.

I'm interested in the 201s and the Outback pants. They also come in hickory so I'll wait for that.

Sorry. Haven't posted any pictures yet. I forgot last night after I got home from work. I got the 201's in the mail yesterday and they're really great too. A little baggier than the 501's, but the suspender buttons and other details like the cinch back are awesome. Really great vintage looking fit. I'll try and post pictures soon.
