Two pairs of 511's. Ones about 2 years old. Fucking brutal crotch rips. So I went to the other pair I had sitting around. 4 months of those, crotch rips. I love Levi's but come on.

bulldog u lucky bastard

ima post my 501's soon
1 1/2 years

btw are there premium 501's?
better than the regular but not lvc

Levis released a "Limited Edition" 1947 501 denim. The fit was similar to LVC, but lower quality. However, the price was lower ~$100. I saw them in person and thought they were ok if you can score a deal.

^ also there are some new 501 made in mexico selvedge in raw rinse that are about 98 bucks. i picked up a pair just incase i couldn't salvage my LVC 47's. ( Thank God i was able to patch mines up)

of course the quality isn't as great as my LVC 47's, i do think they are quite sturdy. they have a fit of 1944's.
nice thick leather patch. selvedge line seam is more exposed, though it does lack the chain stitched hem, and probably uses more synthetic indigo, and wont fade like LVC's electric deep blue, there still pretty good for the price.

here's my pair.

Can someone help me out. I just got some 511's and I would like the bottom area to shrink a bit. Can I soak them in hot water for 30 mins then let them air dry? The reason I'm asking is because they're obviously not 501 STF's. Does anyone have any tips?

Thanks

^u want them skinnier from knee down? only legit way it to get them tapered, soaking or washing will only shrink them for a wear if any shrinking occurs

Thanks for the reply. Yeah they're a little longer than I like. I'll look into getting them tapered. So do only STF's really work by soaking them? I've read a lot about that on here but nothing about doing that to other jeans.

there are not lvc 511's, slimmest lvc fit is the '47 501's

The '67 505 are definitely LVC's slummest cut. 66s or 47s are probably next in line, still think the 66 is the skinner of the two though.

66 is the slimmest 501, but the 67' 505 is the slimmest llvc

Totally forgot about the 1954's. Those have a pretty good amount of taper, will end up fitting slimmer than even the 67's.

But I guess to answer the du's question, the 66 LVC are definitely closest to the NS. Size true or up 1.

47s arent slim at all (in the regular sense of slim anyways)

'67 or '54's are definitely the slimmest.

1954z's(zipper fly) are pretty slim to, but not to be confused with the 1955 button fly which for some reason are pretty straightcut...odd considering historically they should be the same fit just 2 differnt flys.

You probably won't, considering the 511's are a skinny "straight" cut while the NS's are a tapered straight cut. You're best off sizing down one on a pair PS's or sizing down two I guess if you have to go NS.

size down 2 because they'll stretch to be the same fit.

Yea thai repros are fake, but they seem to be really well made. alot of people on still purposely buy them because of the nice fading properties.

He def did a good number on those.
