Have you done a pair that was sized down 1? I'd think that sizing down and then doing that initial hot soak would make them really tight.

I have not done size 1 down yet but TTS is good. I didn't really like them until I machine dried them.

Yea you can but there will be minimal shrinkage, as I've heard. Try BOILING water.

I was going through my closet today. Found my 520s from about 3 years ago. Decided to try them on to show everybody how they looked like now.

5'7 / 150lbs

Went through my old denim today. Pulled this pair of 520s out from 3 years ago. Here's how they fit (for those who haven't seen 520s before):

Need to find a pair of denim with a similar fit. As some of you know, 520s have a roomy thigh (good for my thunder thighs) and a tapered leg.

Hella hip flare.

hey technique i got a question, i have these 501xx preshrunk, and there kinda loose and i need to stiffen then up, whats the best way to do this?

They already been through the factory wash so a lot of the starch has been taken out, I suggest you buy the 501xx STF since its in its raw state and when you soak it, it will still be stiff afterwards.

with STF's do you want to wash them as little as possible in the washer? whats the point of people wearing them so long with out washing?

u want to soak when u first get them to get the shrinkage out of the way, and then wear as long as possible w/o washing to let the fading get in before u start washing out the excess dye

Well if your true waist size is a 32" I recommend sizing up one for saddleman's.
So a 33" waist should be fine for you.
or at least it worked out fine for me when I sized.
