Quick question, I've got some STFs from a few months ago, I didn't like how baggy it was in the thigh area. But I was wondering if I soak them again, is there any chance they can shrink more? Also will that also make them stiff again? Before I put them on damp but now I'm thinking about just letting them dry until they're stiff

nope first soak pretty much gives u the general true size of stf, ur screwed
Nov 13, 2009 @ 12:06
^^ u sure vato? They should shrink if you put em in boiling water(refreshing the water often),but by like the 4th soak i think they'd stop shrinking.

i doubt boiling water will give you that much extra shrinkage.
If the jeans are baggy they're going to shrink again if soaked, but theyll be stretched out once again so theyll be baggy again.

No biggie they were still too baggy than I would've liked and I went TTS. I'm just going to see how much they shrink when I throw them in the dryer

I would suggest sizing down, they're basically straight fit jeans. I bought true to size and the thigh and leg area still had a lot of room.

The nicest STF's I've seen were purchased true to size and hot soaked for 30-40 minutes. I don't know if I agree on sizing up on them or not, I guess it's on a person to person basis.

i'm the best mayne, i deed it

For a slim fit I would go 1 size down from TTS. Like I said I got true to size & I machine dried and they still have some excess room in the thigh & leg area. But its better than before

Have you done a pair that was sized down 1? I'd think that sizing down and then doing that initial hot soak would make them really tight.

I have not done size 1 down yet but TTS is good. I didn't really like them until I machine dried them.
Nov 16, 2009 @ 20:05
could i soak my 501xx non STF after they been worn?
Nov 16, 2009 @ 20:09
Yea you can but there will be minimal shrinkage, as I've heard. Try BOILING water.
Nov 16, 2009 @ 20:27
i dont want to shrink i just want them to stiffen up
Nov 16, 2009 @ 22:31

I was going through my closet today. Found my 520s from about 3 years ago. Decided to try them on to show everybody how they looked like now.

5'7 / 150lbs

---

If anything, I need a fit similar, but not hugging my thunder thighs so much.
Nov 17, 2009 @ 21:22
Went through my old denim today. Pulled this pair of 520s out from 3 years ago. Here's how they fit (for those who haven't seen 520s before):

Need to find a pair of denim with a similar fit. As some of you know, 520s have a roomy thigh (good for my thunder thighs) and a tapered leg.

Hella hip flare.
