Do the 511 raw stretch out easily? I just bought a pair and at the calves they are tight as shit. I don't want to soak cause I'm afraid of shrinkage. Or should I give it a cold soak and try to stretch them out when they are drying?

514 slim straight
if those are too big for you try to find 511 in larger sizes.
if those are too small get 501

that's weird because the area where honeycombs develop undergo much more stress than where the creases and stacks are located.

with 511's are you supposed to wear them right after you get them or should I soak them first? If so, warm or cold? this goes with the terms sanfordized or something?

you can just wear em. do a cold soak if you want em to shrink a little and a hot soak if you want em to shrink a lot.

Yeah, with 511's, there's really nothing too special about the denim.
Just purchase and wear.

But, like araw said, you can soak em for some more shrinkage if you'd like the fit a bit tighter.

As I grow older, I pay less attention to what men say. I just watch what they do.

Looking for somthing raw (or distressed - but nice!) and for less than $50.

Available in a longer inseam than 33" (preferably 34").

Something slim, not super skinny, not baggy. No nut hugging, no ridiculously baggy.

Not 501 STF's.

Any/all help is appreciated.

oo thanks araw and calborn. btw if I do choose to soak them, do I have to flip them inside out? and do i hang them up to dry or use the dryer?

soak to get the excess dye off

Will it shrink? Cold or warm soak? What about washing?

Anything raw, slim, slight taper and not 501 STF's for $50-$75?

Need something cheap in price but that fit good. smh

I can't find anything, and no 511's are too skinny.

i just copped a pair of dark navy 511s.. i wore them once and ironed them before i wore..

does this type of denim honeycomb ? and if so what can i do to help it develop honeycombs quicker ? and does ironing prevent the denim from honeycombing ?

I've been on my 501 STF shit for a while now. I tried on some 514s last time I went out and although I liked the fit, those leg openings are big as hell. Like, they're as big as the 501 openings and it just throws off the whole shit. Also, I'm going have to size up one from what I typically wear for 501s (33 vs a 32). Is there a Levi's fit that's just like the 514 but with a slight taper?

I've selected a pair I want. Now I need to figure out sizing.

Levis LVC 1947 501xx

How should I go about sizing?

Size up 1, hot soak, it should be pretty tight but then after 2 weeks it will stretch out OR you can size up 2 and have it semi-loose around your waist but wont have to go through the stretching and tightness, i would size up 1 though
