I've seen grizzly say "a few weeks" a couple times now. I've looked around on here, superfuture an the actual BiG site and not seen anything mentioning when they're actually coming.

Can anyone shed some light on the subject or should I just e-mail BiG?

Lol BackLike45', from experience how much stretching have you noticed with the 710s? I only have experience with Zero denim.


sorry for the late response. mine have stretched about 1" from my original post-soak measurement (measured it like BiG). im pretty sure they stretch out more, i just don't sag a lot.

Um... not quite... The denim, due to weave and other factors, will shrink about 1" (possibly just a bit more) with the regulated hot soak. You could probably get another half inch out of the waist if you give them hot soak + machine dry, but that's really quite irrelevant. You can e-mail Gordon and ask him, and I'm almost sure that he'll say what I said. Ask other samurai 19oz samurai denim wearers how much initial shrinkage they had (not hypebeast members; chances are, they can't measure), and I will stand corrected if one of them actually says they shrank 2 inches in the waist (they will not). Also, that's not specific to the 710, its specific to the 19oz samurai denim, the cut has a negligible effect on the amount of shrinkage.

How much stretching can you expect from the 19oz? That's my primary concern. I went TTS with the Black Knights, but I was close to getting 1 down since it seemed perfect after stretching.

As long as it shrinks at least 1" and doesn't stretch more than 1", I should be set.

I wear about a 31 waist. My APC PS are tagged 30 and stretched out to about 32.
What size do i order? I want them to fit the sammies are supposed to.
Sorry for the n00b question.

All jeans will stretch - the more pressure applied on them, the more they stretch.

You want to go with a 32.

Why would it be irrelevant if the fit is exactly what the buyer is concerned about?

Anyways, I guessed you skipped directly to the short version huh?

My own pair, shrank two inches. But seeing as I'm on hypebeast I guess my words count for nothing.

But don't fret Kimosabe! I did find one person on hypebeast who you may actually find convincing. Coincidentally, this person said lot 12 (which follows the same "shrinking" convention as lot 11, according to experts (see following references)) shrank to

tagged size.

Unless of course, you, yourself don't own a pair of samurai and you are merely speculating, (Which I highly doubt you are) I can't find any reason why you, of all people, wouldn't believe yourself. Come on now brethren, you gotta have more confidence than that!

If you look at the chart once more and pull out a TI-89, you can easily subtract 28 inches from 30 inches to get 2 inches. Or 29 inches from 31 inches to get dos pulgadas. Or 30 inches from 32 inches to get zweii zoll. See Watson! It's a pattern! We just discovered DNA! I mean, you said it yourself that:

I already know that, I wanted to know the general stretching on the 19oz denim since my only experience is with Zero denim which is not a fair assessment of stretching.

Firstly, I said go true to size... that's simply rule of thumb measuring - the pairs don't always measure 2+ because samurai's pair differ a good deal in the waist measurement from pair to pair.

Just to show the discrepency, "These are lot 12 tagged 32x36 but in reality are more like a tagged 28x36."
"I got these off the market a few days ago, they are brand new w/ tags, never soaked or altered (to my knowledge) or anything. The original buyer got them from BiG... Size 31 Lot 11... waist :16 (=32)"

As shown, the pairs waist sizes differ from pair to pair significantly. As I said, sizing true to size is what you want to do - its simple rule of thumb stuff.

I have a friend who purchased a pair when the lot was 11 - they started out +1 of tagged size and shrank to tagged size. I sent Gordon an e-mail about this - expect another post regarding this tomorrow. If you are correct, then congrats! I didn't include measurements and simply asked how much the samurai 19 oz denim shrinks, so the answer will be much more true. Also, he didn't specifically mention a denim and stated his point more generally. Other samurai denim like the texas cotton denim and such will shrink more. The chart is based on averages, and the pairs do differ a good bit. And again, I've said repeatedly that you size true to size... how did Gordon say to size? Was it the same?

And the last bit you added is absurd - why the hell would someone get the 710 if they want a relaxed, loose jean when samurai produces a load of cuts and models. Its the norm to purchase the 710 just because others have them and people just do not choose to buy other pairs. I was simply helping him out - if he wants a loose cut, he doesn't want samurai's (second to 003JP model) slimmest jean. He might've asked about the 710 because he saw someone else on here wearing them and thought they looked nice, but really, he probably wasn't exposed to samurai and other japanese denim brands' more relaxed models and thus would not know what the market truly has to offer.

You're followers seem to be pretty impressed with you're approach to appearing to be a pseudo-intellectual, keep it up!

Indigo dyed tee shirts. They're not actually denim, they just replicate the look to a certain degree. The only actual denim tee shirt that I'm aware of is wild child at selfedge.
