you were size 34 FH 3001 and you could fit into a size 33 s710??? i bought a pair of s710 size 33 last week and it was way too tight on me on the waist, i wear a size 32 FH 1001. how can that be???

yea...when i was barely able to button the s710, i know for sure after i hot soak them, it would be impossible to button them again.

i think i figured out why it fits so tight. the FH 1001 or 3001 are like low-rise, so it fits below the belly. the s710 are mid-rise, so it fits right on the belly. does this make sense? so if we were to measure our sizes for the s710, we measure our belly and not really the waist?

Yes. Pretty sure that the Lot 10's measure tagged size pre-soak, while the Lot 11's are a size up. Try shooting Gordon an email though, just to be sure.

sizing down on 710s wont make them fit slimmer

itll make them stupid tight in the waist and thighs and theyll still look the same in the calves...youre more likely to get a slimmer looking by getting your true size or even going UP 1 cause then the calves will at least look slim relative to the upper block

the point of jeans tapering is so they get narrower are they get closer to your feet..sizing down defeats the purpose of the taper

Yeah, you don't alter Samurais for yourself. You alter yourself for Samurais.

Or they'll kill you with the sword of a thousand Japs.

ya rly.

From the site:

PRE-ORDER - Expected delivery is NOT September 5, 2009.

Due to a delay in receiving some of the customized trimmings for this jean the
delivery date will need to be pushed back slightly to a later date. We're not sure
yet of the exact date but will keep the site updated with this information once it
becomes available from Japan. Some of the details going into the Black Knight
are a first for Samurai Jeans so we appreciate your patience during this time
while things are sorted out as quickly as possible. For those who've pre-ordered
we apologize for this delay and thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Ok guys....what I'm going to ask might belong in the small denim question thread. But I'm going to purchase another pair of S710XX maybe sometime tomorrow and I can't afford to make another error on sizing.

My waist is about 36.5 inch, what size should I get? Does size 34 = 34 inch waist, size 35 = 35 inch waist, and etc? Also, will the leg opening be too wide on size 34, 35, or 36? I'm 5'8'' and weigh 170 lbs, if that helps.

^If you're going for a slim fit, go true to size or down one at the most. Depending on where you are going to order from determines what lot you will receive, thus fucking with the sizing a bit, but by now, most store will ship lot 11 and 12. Measurements on bigger sizes are indeed way more crazy than the smaller sizes. The leg opening should be fine though once you get all the shrinkage out of the way.

So get a 36 or 35 depending on what fit you want.

(or you can buy the 34 and trade me for my 35 which is a bit loose on me smile)

it's just feels weird to see the tag size 35 or 36 when all of my other jeans/pants are either 32 or 33. so what's the condition of your 35 and does it have the red tab?
