why are my sams like super soft? i only did 3 hot soaks

is it just me or do sams get hella soft after a month of wearing??

how heavy is the denim? my friend had a pair of the 17 oz straight fits and they got pretty soft after 4-5 months of every day wear... my 710s, i've had for about 10-11 months and they are still pretty stiff...

10-11 months of everyday wear?

I've had my 15oz 710s for 7 months or so (but about two and a half months of hard wear) and they're soft.

These pictures weren't really taken for my jeans or the fit, but I decided to give a small update on the 710s.

Sarcaustic,

Sized down one. It was very, very hard to get the top button on at first; the waist was mad tight.

But they've stretched a bit, so they're not as bad even though the denim is stubborn and won't stretch in the waist much.

My initial pre-soak didn't include the waist because they were so tight in the beginning and I didn't want to risk them being too tight to wear.

Essentially, the waist was a pain in the ass for a week, but once it stretches out, the fit is definitely worth it.

I don't have a fit picture, but I don't like the fit. I would say when I bought it, it was 0.5" too big. Plus Zero denim stretches like crazy. So it's sitting a bit lower than I would like with the S5000 fit.

I much rather have 710BK's though &)

None of you know what you're talking about. You go true to size on the 19oz Lot 11 and 12 710. I don't see the point of going through the initial month long discomfort, but may be I'm crazy. What's the point of sizing down anyway? To have a jean slimmer by .2 in general dimensions? If all of did what you were supposed to by washing then machine drying, you would get all the shrinkage out in terms of fit.

for people that have owned both, do you like the texas cotton (500, 610) or the regular cotton (710,s5000)?
