Blue Shadows look nice, I don't know how I feel about the blue stitching though. I'll probably cop the black version once they're in stock, I missed out on the Black Knights.

Got my Samurais in the washer for the first time after 7 months. Kinda scary =) . Hope they wont shrink too much but I guess the Samurais always stretches out so it wont be a problem I hope.

Blue shadows are like 16oz, lighter than regular 710xx. I think they'd look pretty dope as it fades doe cool

When the old pair was new, was the inseam the same length? If so, they shrunk a lot; although they look really good.

I'm debating getting either a pair of these or a pair of Diors. What do y'all think?

Blue shadows use the same denim as the s5000vx, check those out to see similar fades.

Yeah roughly 39 inseem before hitting water and both around 36 after soak.

I wish, but getting a chain stitch really doesn't mean anything.. you can still get roping with a regular lock stitch, just won't look as good as a chain stitch. But I am sure if you go into a tailor they will tell you whether or not they can do that.

You can always go to SelfEdge for a $20 chainstitch or if you bought Sams at BiG, they'd do it for free.

Chainstitching is just personal preference to be honest.

They are completely different kinds of jeans. Dior jeans are more for those who want a skinny, modern fit, and their denim and construction details are nowhere near as unique as what you would see on a pair of Samurais. Samurai makes looser cuts than Dior and are more for denim enthusiasts who are into the construction details and denim quality of a pair of jeans.

How much do the leg openings shrink when you hot or cold soak a pair of 710's?


About a half-inch on average, IME.

Here are pics of my S500JX-LR after 8 months of part-time wear. I can't wear jeans at work anymore, so my wear has been limited to evenings and weekends, and these have also been in rotation with a pair of slimmer jeans for when I wear sleeker shoes. They've had 2 hot soaks, both within the first month of wear, and one hot hand wash at about 6 months.

Wish the cut was slimmer, but I love these to death. I am going to guess the wear time is ~3-4 weeks (or a month). The BEST way to represent the color is to say they are purple. They are brown/indigo weft/warp which in turn makes them purpilish. At a distance they somewhat look like the first picture, but up close they look exactly like they do in the third picture.
