Alright thanks been lookin at the 710 since last year haha. Isnt lot #13 kinda slimmer then lot 12?

I don't know if they are actually slimmer, I think they are just sized smaller.

When I buy 710 what should I size if I'm TTS 30?

I understand you have to presoak it

With that cut, I think it looks best TTS. If you want a tighter fit, you could size down 1, but I don't think I'd really go further than that.

Yes, you should presoak it. Of course you should check the fit in between soaks, but I would recommend at least 2 hot soaks before you start wearing full-time.

Sizing up 1 is something I've seen people do with this cut as well. It should be fine if you do this, but just be aware that it will be a looser fit.

Do sams stretch out?

Do sams stretch out?

Yeah, they stretch a lot. They can stretch back to raw size and often even beyond.

So i shouldn't size up...
Nov 20, 2010 @ 12:26
well if you size up, it won't be as tight on your waist and it will stretch less
if it is tight on ur waist initially, obviously there will be more stretching

It really depends on how you want the jeans to fit on you. If you size down, the fit will be slimmer. I personally like TTS the best on this cut.

do you know how much shrinkage you will get in soaking(maximum)

Maximum shrinkage on Samurais tends to be 2" in the waist and 3" in the inseam. Usually takes multiple soaks/washes to get there, though.

the inseam is 36" right?

After wash, yes. The raw inseam is usually around 39".

okay thanks
Nov 20, 2010 @ 16:23
I don't think that there is an absolute inseam length for Samurai. They all say 36, but my pair was like 38.5 after a few hot soaks. A hem is pretty much guaranteed

sams are quite slubby right?
Nov 20, 2010 @ 21:32
yes
Nov 20, 2010 @ 22:49
Regarding the sizing down or going TTS depends on which cut you get....

Generally, yes. I don't find their 21 oz. denim to be particularly slubby, though.

He was asking about 710s.

So if it's slubby, I will be getting vertical fade lines?

No, slubby denim does not give vertical fade lines any more than any other denim does. Cheap jeans are not slubby, they tend to have almost no texture at all.

That vertical fade line comes from creasing when people don't wash their raw denim properly.

This isn't true. Vertical fades are from the vertical lines of un-even slub that run up and down the leg and actually fade faster than the rest of the lap.
