I thought dryer damages the denim / makes it extremely soft.


I guess you thought wrong, mine came out pretty damn stiff out the dryer & it definitely took care of the shrinking. No damage done either.

I figured as much, these are very highly regarded around teh internets.

I agree, I own a couple of pairs of N&F and maybe 10 pairs of various higher-end Japanese brands, including Samurai, and there is no comparison in the construction quality. The Japanese brands are all pretty close to each other in build quality, but the N&F isn't even in the same league as any of them.

Dryers won't do any damage to the denim. They'll be a little bit softer than if you were to hang dry them, but nothing "extreme" that your other sources suggest.

Yeah, what solix said.

My jeans were not damaged at all & yes they weren't as stiff as when I hang dry them but they were still stiff, not like they come out like non-raw prewashed jeans.

thanks! i would put off a soak for as long as possible though, unless they are starting to stink or you got some broken threads poppin' up here and there.

if you do soak, whatever fades you have sorta get more vibrant. the denim gets so "lively" after a good soak. it's all good either way.

just to add to peep's advice about machine drying, it's not at all a bad thing. hang drying just leaves 'em a little bit more stiff and allows things to set in easier. soft or stiff, you'll still get some nice evo with decent amount of wear time.

all my samurais (710LOT 13 and 710bk) are TTS. I think its a really bad idea to go one size down because mines shrunk every time I soaked them.

I went down one i believe, but fuckin seriously looked like a shaolin monk trying to up his chi flow with kung fu poses trying to stretch the waist before i soaked them lol (what a fucking BITCH!!!). Then when i soaked i avoided water ever touching the waist. So yeah im happy to report i can button them fully smile

If anyone looking to buy some new 710s idk if BiG sizing info is old (maybe cus it was based on a previous lot) but be cautious they are literally true to tag size.


Haha, well it's good to hear you got them buttoned! Just be warned they'll shrink a bit in the waist when you wash them. I went TTS and I still stuck a clothes hanger in the waist when I soaked mine just to be safe. And yeah those measurements on BiG seem to change from lot to lot. I had to send my first pair back cause they were too small sad

dont fuck around with a sz29 seriously they would be too tight which was in my case, (albeit i managed to stretch them out) Go with the sz30 believe me, and if you want a slimmer fit hot soak in boiling water and they DEF get slimmer


Don't mess with boiling water. It can mess up the patch and wastes a lot of heat. Just do a hot wash (with a little detergent to help if you want) and throw them into the dryer.
