The Official Naked & Famous Denim Thread

I'm really happy that I found this place- I've been looking at getting a pair of black selvage jeans to replace my aging (but still favorite!) J Crew selvedge!

I've been looking at the Black Slimguys, but haven't really been able to find too much about them after reading this thread- I don't want a tight fit, but I was something slim!

I believe that I have a natural 33 waist (that's what I wear in 501s), and that provides me with a decent fit (maybe a bit baggy in the thigh/ass)... looking at the measurements on TOBI for this cut, it looks like I should maybe grab the 31s- can anyone vouch for this?

Also, it'd be great to hear from others that have bought the black selvedges, testimonials etc. Pics would be fantastic as well!

either 31s or 32s would be good imo, also depends on if you have thighs that are kind of big. if they are then people say down 1, although this is typically for weird guys and maybe not slim guys so you might have to get another person's advice too

i have these. i am generally a comfortable 33 also. i bot the 30 to allow for stretch, and while intially i found them quite painful, they are now a good deal more relaxed, but still very tailored. i will say, however, that i would surely have switched to 32, as the slim guy fit works a little better when its less tight, with more draping and less pronouncement of the genitals.

how does the fit of the SkinnyGuy compare to UO's skinny unbranded? is it the exact same? do the N&F stretch more?
Jul 06, 2010 @ 15:58
I'm still debating if I should get these and leave my Unbrandeds.

And does anyone have exact measurements on a sz28 Weird Guy fit? Thanks in advance

Question. Are the green selvedge ones raw?

Thanks for the response- would you compare your fit to something like this?

Because I think that this fit looks ideal!

Also, are they really zip fly? I hate zippers.
Jul 06, 2010 @ 19:45
they are button fly

the 28's have a real measurement of 30's I believe, there was a size chart floating around. And i can attest to that since I have size 28 in Weirdguys and the waist fits much looser than a real 28".

How's the leg opening? I'm not trying to go for that skinny fit, something more looser than my Unbranded Tapered cause those are a 28 also.

I think the leg opening is 7"s from what the chart said. That seems to be true since the have the same leg opening as my imperials which are 7"s

Kevlar Denim
got my first pair of NF, kevlar slim guys. The kevlars got a sick green weft because of the blue indigo and the yellow kevlar. It ain't stiff, actually feels really nice on the skin, but damn, it does not stretch at all. I read somewhere that kevlar breaks down under UV rays and is supposed to change colors, so I'm looking forward to breaking this in. Fit pics later

Anybody know if Ecstasy still has pairs of N&F for sale? I can't PM him until post 15, apparently.

i just bought a pair of APC new cures and now i want a pair of NF. I want an indigo color but i don't want the color to be too similar to my APC's. I was thinking about weird guy selvedge jeans in indigo from Tobi. what do you guys think?

If you're looking for something different, you can try barneys. They have the red weft and the chambray NF for cheap. red weft =$69 dollars.

Is the sizing on the grey weirdguys the same as indigo weirdguys?

I remember someone suggesting different sizing back in the thread but can't find the post now...
Jul 10, 2010 @ 07:19
well people typically say that you should probably only go down 1 if your thighs are sort of big. 2 if you think you want a skinny fit. but i've read that the grey ones don't stretch as much as the indigo ones

should i wash before i start a new repair or repair now and keep going without another wash?

seems to me that the best route to repair is a patch, by machine.
what you dont want is for either the patch or the pants to change shape once youve washed. you ask me, the best results will come from repair post wash or soak.

just take them and the patch you want to a tailor.
alternately, you can have an inch or two hemmed and use the excess for a matching patch.

I know it's a noob thing to ask, but when my denim starts feeling flimsy and soft, does that mean I can't get those crisp fades? is that why people are drooling over these cement-like 32 oz?
Jul 10, 2010 @ 15:52
No, that is not the case lol. Just keep wearing them.
Jul 10, 2010 @ 17:52
Looking to buy some weird guys, any place has them on sale or any website that has a coupon code that makes it less than $125? Tobi is the cheapest i've found at 125 but it's back ordered.
