Hey guys, new to the site and new to raws. Just bought a pair of N&F lht indigo skinny guys for my first pair. Making a new belt and wallet to rock as a combo then I'll get some pics up.

Just got a pair of the N&F Hemp Blend SGs that were on sale instead of UBs. Man hemp feels all scratchy on the skin, wasn't really aware of that. Hopefully these turn out well.

Need helping picking/sizing a pair. Is N&F true to size, or do they have vanity sizing. And how much to size down on selvedge jeans.
Stats - 6 feet and 185 lbs (on keto, trying to lose another 10-15, the midriff is the toughest)
Measured my waist - 36"
Last year I was wearing a pair of Levi's 527 Low Boot Cut 34 x 32 (I probably fit a 33 x 32 now).
I read an article on denim and ordered myself a pair of Levi's 501 to introduce myself to Raw/Selvedge. I got a 32 x 34 (sized down 2 on the waist, and up 2 on the inseam). I've been wearing it for the past 3-4 months at least 3-4 times a week. I have to squeeze in to get the last button on (helps with the goal of trying to lose that last bit of weight), but I have about ~2 inches on the thigh so it feels a bit loose/roomy in that area.

I'm not sure what the hard/fast rule is for picking a waist size for Naked & Famous, and that is one of my issues. I have read that the inseams are usually 35-36" to allow for stacking, tailoring etc. The other issue is to choose which style, Slim Guy, Skinny Guy or Weird Guy.
If you take a look at the pic from my front side in the 501, it looks roomy in the thighs. I want to avoid in the N&F.

I'll try to help you out.
1. Since you want "raw" denim, and are hoping to achieve fading, "wash" is automatically out [wash means after the dying process of the jeans, they wash it => less fading]. As your first pair, I recommend raw indigo, so no beige, gray or blacks.
From my experience, stiffer denim = more fade.
2. Keep in mind, just because a model pulls off a "fit", does not mean you can pull it off, unless you have the same proportions as the model.
3. Did you ever soak your 501? I think you'll achieve a better fit if you tried soaking them.
4. Since you want less room in your thigh, avoid Weird Guy [roomy thighs -> tapered hem]. Leaving you the option of Slim vs Skinny for a slimmer thigh. Since you're a bigger guy with a 36 waist. I would recommend either -1 Slim or +1 Skinny. From my experience, and just from lurking the threads N&F Slim and Weird are vanity size (-1/-2).

which fit from Naked&Famous resembles most like Thin Finns from nudie? the thin finns are perfect for me, not too baggy, not too tight.
