Wondering if it's normal for these jeans to have the front-side of the jean be "lower" than the back? See the last picture for what I mean. Sort of tight in the upper thigh, butt area... wondering if a soak will help alleviate that weird look in the butt area.

Don't really know if a soak will solve it, both my indigos and my greys look similar. I just assumed it was due to how I wore them, could be pocket use and stuff?

Pretty much every pair of men's jeans in existence have a lower front rise than back rise. That is normal.

I would not bother soaking N&F jeans except to get the starch out. For shrinkage, soaking doesn't really help on N&F jeans, because they are sanforized. The jeans might shrink a little bit when soaked or washed later on eventually, but they'll stretch back out fast.

Just got my weird guy deep indigos. From those with past experience, should I do a pre soak before I wear them?

You can, but it's not absolutely necessary. If you want to get rid of the starch and slow down the wear and tear on the denim and the stitching, go ahead and soak. You'll lose the initial sheen on the raw denim when they touch water, though.

If you want to keep the initial sheen, don't soak. If you don't soak, your denim will fade faster, because the starch in the fabric from manufacturing will cause it to wear faster.

N&F denim is sanforized, so the fit won't really be affected whether you soak or not.

So if a size 30 in "other brand jeans" fits my waist snugly, will I be okay to go 28 in the weird guys?

Well I'm a pretty skinny guy. about 140lbs. 5'9. So jeans usually look better on me when they're tighter rather than loose.

can someone please list all the places you can find NF jeans? (both online sites and any real stores if possible)

I'm trying to find the vintage blue weird guy 28 if that helps any.

halp.

also i found a site that has one but its a 29. can tailors make the waist smaller? and will the other proportions be the same or slightly different? I looked at a chart before but the one i saw didnt list a 28 so I couldn't compare it.

I tried on the skinny guy indigo power stretch today and those are amazing. Amazing as in comfortable. That is, compared to their regular non-elastic jeans. I can only wonder what the cashmere's feel like...

Selling (if my sig still lists it, it's still available!): N&F Japan Heritage 32, N&F x Big John 31 and 32

Didn't get a pic sorry. But, surprisingly I'm not sure if it's because of the elastane, but it didn't feel that much more tighter (in the thighs) than the weird guys that I have. I wear 31 WGs, and tried on the 32 skinny's and in a way they were more comfortable than the weird guys. I'm guessing it's a combination of the elastane as well as weird guys fit, just being rather weird.

Most people seem to agree that you should size down 1 to 2 from your normal waist.

I sized down 2 on my N&F denim. They were pretty tight to start but did stretch to a good size.

The only thing id ive to say is to try them on. Not everyone is shaped the same and waist sizes differ.

With mine like I said they were pretty tight wierd guy fit, but I knew they were strecth a little as all N&F do and since they could button i kept them.

if you want a whole lot, then don't hem, but if you want some i think a 34 inch or 33 would be good for the right amount of stacking

Does anyone know how to get rid of the flyaway threads? To better explain there are tiny little fibers that stick out of my jeans and give them a softer rather than a raw/rigid look.

thinkin of buying a pair of slim NFs and i got a question about the sizing. i wear a size 30 for levis 511.

from the pages that i've read on this thread, i should be sizing down about 2 sizes? so a size 28 would actually be a size 30?
also, i've read that after wearing them for a bit, they will stretch about 2 sizes bigger, but will shrink back down 2 sizes when you soak them? is this correct? would i still be aiming for a size 28?

sorry i'm just a bit confused as this would be my first pair of raws

That sounds about right. I'm not sure how much they'll stretch because I haven't personally owned any slimguys but if they do shrink when you soak them, they're likely to stretch back out close to how they were before after wearing them a little.
