^ Depends what fit you are going for. Imperials are a great starting pair and if they are cheaper in AUS why not!

If you already have a pair of imps may I suggest a pair of Flathead denim? It wasn't listed in your three options but they make really amazing quality denim. If you didn't want FH for a reason then I'd go with a pair of Sammies, heard wonderful things about that company as well.

There isnt a huge different but they arent the same. The dukes have a longer rise and much bigger pockets. Im also sure that the leg openings are different as well. There not really 2 jeans u can really compare to each other.

rise is from the crotch to the belt line, check out this measuring guide from blue in green soho,

teach you the different parts of denim and even how to measure. so you can measure your current denim to see where you are at and where you want to be.

so front rise is the crotch to front of beltline, and back rise is for the back of it.

The F310 is pretty tight if you ask me, maybe go for the F380's? I just bought a pair of the 4001BK's which are almost the same as the 3001/310 model and they are TIGHT. Peep around the denim section at SUFU, they literally have the answers to every question.
