Question for folks who own FH and Samurai denim, which do you think fades faster? Im still in dilemma on choosing my next denim to cop for winter. Either FH 1001 or Sam' 710s. If you can provide pics and your daily activity and x amount of wears a week that be great. Thanks in advance
October 11, 2010 @ 20:10:12
Flats heads are known for quick fading properties.
October 11, 2010 @ 20:45:32
Imo Samurai fade "faster." Flat Head holds its indigo better.
October 11, 2010 @ 20:47:37
710s fade really fast.

3 months is all you need to see major fading.

Self Edge x Flat Head x RingRing = SEXFHXRR10

For the second Self Edge collaboration with Flat Head and our tenth collaboration in total we decided to take a bit of a different turn in regards to the design details of the jean. We've partnered up a good fried which goes by the name of RingRing to design the jean together, a process which took multiple meetings over a two year period. We can't go into who this RingRing person actually is, let's just say his knowledge of denim, indigo, textiles, and clothing in general go back to a thirty year period of studying and working in the industry.

We brought in some different influences on this collaboration for the design details such as a slim belt loops with selvedge accents on the inside, sloped front pockets, turn of the century Levi's style watch (coin) pocket with peak-a-boo selvedge, and curved back pockets. Many of these details were difficult to implement on a jean with this type of denim, or any denim for that matter.

We constructed the top block of the jean in a completely new way, the stitch patterns are unlike any other jean we've seen and there's 7 different stitch counts on the top block alone. Things like the thin selvedge belt loops were hand folded and sewn one by one by hand, a very uncommon production procedure since the 1920's most machines had folding attachments. The rear pockets had to be steamed and pulled by hand repeatedly so they'd retain a certain shape so that they wouldn't crease once sewn onto the pant body. Most of the jean is dual needle stitched but looks like a single stitch jean, yet the front pockets are stitched with a single-needle machine freehand where the stitch then goes up and into the waistband and turns into the same stitch that holds the waistband onto the jean legs and yoke.

Asking Flat Head to produce a jean like this, while adding in their touches and thoughts, wasn't an easy task. They've never ventured far from the standard 5-Pocket jean design and this definitely opened up new concerns and ideas in relation to producing a non-standard jean for them. These are limited to only 140 pairs between all three Self Edge stores and the online store.

November 08, 2010 @ 16:58:46
my BSPs presoak size 32
from the front they look like theyre tight but the back shot shows they still have some room, a soak should fix that

November 08, 2010 @ 17:59:16
those SEXFHXRR10 look wack to me, with that retared belt loop slevege, just like , whats the point
November 08, 2010 @ 18:36:32
dope fit snuff
a soak might make that a bit too tight based on that first pic but eh

Sized down 1 on BSP's, got a 32. Fit is sex.
Almost as good as my Dior 19cm.
idk how people go tts, they stretch out a lot.
I could have probably gone down to a 31.

I went through a few pages back, and it seems not alot of people really fux with F380, the straight frontier.
are 380 and 310 the same material and quality besides the minor differences in zippers and etc and the differences in fits?
Gunna cop my first indigo raw denim as 380 and wear them new years day =)
November 21, 2010 @ 01:50:48
yes they are essentially the same to my knowledge
November 22, 2010 @ 07:51:55

I want some skulls. do you have texas cotton or the new pima blend?
November 25, 2010 @ 15:19:41
I have the old texas cotton. Love em'; fit and fading are on point. My only complaint is the 100% cotton stitching, gotta sew up the breaks yourself.
November 25, 2010 @ 17:59:09
^nice bsp's up there. anyways, here a quick update on my bsp's.
