Whats the best way to keep the jeans (levi 501xx stf) to have that dark look to them? i perfer the indigo to the semi-bright blue they become. Is there anyway (besides not washing/soaking) to keep them with the Raw Look? Also, i am intrested in getting some nudies in a 34x34, straight legged, what should i look for, what prices should i expect for those, and where could i get them in San Francisco/Bay area?
Thanks, im a denim noob.

Self Edge if you're in SF or American Rag, its near Huf.

The cut you probably want is Straight Sven or Slim Jim.

Nudies are kinda made to fade though so... do with that what you will

i dont really know if theres any techniques that prevent the ultimate discoloration or fade of raw jeans through regular wear. if you dont want them to fade, dont wear em.

actually using woolite dark laundry will keep it from fading too much, but the honeycombs and whiskers will fade just a little bit

Well, I soaked my 501xx in warm water (just a bit warmer than room temperature), inside out, and I did not agitate them. I just laid them flat in my tub and had a few weights to keep it submerged. In the end the colour seems pretty similar to when I first bought my jeans. They did lose a bit of sheen but not too much.

Does this apply to the regular 501(non-stf) as well.. keeping that rich indiglo dye... by washing them first and then dont wash for another half a year or so?

Indiglo huh? haha I'd just wash them every 3-4 weeks, not going to fade as well as STFs but you can starch the crap out of them and hope.

best way to keep the indigo color is to buy 2 pairs of jeans and rotate them

nudies makes the slim jim is a few diffrent "colors" they have a dry, organic dry which is dark and takes quite awhile to start fadeing, black coated and black/cool dark fadings. those would be your best bets if you want them to stay dark

If you just want to keep the overall color of the jeans, don't wash at all. You will get fades in the honeycombs and whiskers, but this is the best way to preserve the overall deep blue color. I prefer this as well; I like really high contrast fades on creases with the bulk of the jeans still being fairly dark.

dior doesnt really fade quickly, and they are always a great cut (you'd prefer a 21cm leg opening) .. save a little more and find yourself a pair

if that helpssmile

i've had these nudie slim finn ultra indigos for about 3 or 4 months without washing or anything and they're still shiny and nearly black. they look completely black when you buy them though, rather than the normal raw look. i've had two pairs of apc new standards and they both faded quite a bit within 4 months. shit, do these nudies even fade to blue? or are they just black denim... lol whatever

the ONLY way to keep the raw color is to never wear them.
