Levi's 501xx STF before & after soak
So I was bored studying at home today and decided to soak my stfs. I wore them for about 8-10 days to stretch em' out a bit before the soak. The inseam shrunk by about 2 inches and they've got more snug all around. Anyways here are the pics of when they were new, and after the soak.

How did you break your STFs in so fast in this picture did you wear them everyday straight for 2 weeks? Cause I had a pair of STFs for 8 months and theres no honeycombs or anything.

Naw I wore them once a week for 8 months straight. But I guess I gotta wear them for the entire week now.

well once you think about it thats only 32 wears so only like 1 month of real wear, if you ever want to expect good results you gotta wear them everyday or at least 5 days a week

i got a question, before deciding on the size u want for the stfs, people say to buy sizes up when buy them. But after wearing them, they are going to stretch, then after soak, they will shrink, then u were and it will stretch again. So isn't it wise to get your normal size for a tighter/perfect fit?

yeah just get your normal size, the fit isn't too great anyways so it will never bee too tight or loose..

*Edit, I am true to size 35 waist and around 34 in length, I bought it 34x36 and it fits pretty well. It was a bit long before the soak and now, there is a bit of stacking. The fit is alright, but nothing special if you want a real good pair.

lol to tell u the truth I do too. I think the fit feels kind of strange now at the bottom, but I guess it'll stretch out after a few wears. But the soak really helped with the honeycombs/whiskers, they' got so stiff after and became much more visible.

2 weeks was REALLY soon for your first wash. You didn't give the jeans enough time for fading to occur. Your "honeycombs" are just creases. There's no actual fading going on. I wore my STF's for like 3 months before the first soak. I regret washing them so early. Now, they look like this-

damn thats pretty sick, I did the soak to shrink the fit a bit and to allow the creases to set in better, not for any fading to occur.

Weird. I'm new to raw denim, so I bought a pair of STFs to 'play' with. Wore them about 5 times and decided to soak just to see what happens (i.e. how they bleed, how much they bleed, color change, shrinkage, etc) and all I noticed was a loss of most of the sheen and they got a bit darker blue. I soaked them in a bathtub in luke warm/slightly cool water for about an hour. I bought another pair after I soaked them so I could see the difference of before and after.

Here are the soaked ones underneath the new ones (old were a 35 waist, new are a 34 waist, so that's why the new look smaller, but the 35's only seem to have shrunk a very tiny bit in the waist and not at all in length -- maybe due to cooler water usedconfused:

All pics were taken on my MDA, so not the highest quality. These two were taken with me directly in the sunlight, and you can hardly tell which are which (new vs. soaked), but in person it is pretty noticable when side by side. The first pic is of the old (soaked) 501s:

thanks. hmmmmm... I'd say I wore these for about 4 months before the first soak, then 2 months, then another soak. I still wish that I wore them longer though. My current pair of Dunderdons I plan on wearing for 18 months before the first soak. I don't want to make the same mistake again. I sadly grew out of my STFs recently.

the stf 501's that i have seen are dark blue, but the quality don't look like this, the fabric is like FUZZY , the 501s i saw looks cheap and not as dark.

Is there a difference in appearence for the raw 501s and regular 501s?

whats the difference between stf 501 and stf 501xx? sorry im a noob.
