In terms of raw denim, the fading and distressing comes from the natural progression of wear over time.

Here are my slim jim dry japans. Worn for around purchased 5months ago and worn around 3/4 a week. I really fucked up from the start as i went a slightly too big with the waist. Ive really gone off the fit recently but i'll give them another month of hard wearing before i wash them.

Got these Dior 21cm's on friday for a great price, didnt plan on buying them but couldnt resist the bargain. They fit me great and stack beautifully but the leg opening is a bit too wide for my liking so im guna see if i can get them taken in slightly, if not i'll sell them and get some 19cm's.

I feel you washed your jeans too much, but they're yours so do your thing.
Mar 29, 2007 @ 10:15

my jeans never smell funny at all, and i never wash them.
just let them catch some air outside and all bad smells will fade away.

the smell might be gone but you've probably accumulated a lot of sweat and other dirt or food even in one month so its not really only about smell

you'll attract ants =)
Apr 01, 2007 @ 12:21
apc rescue-a little over 3 months 1 wash

Apr 01, 2007 @ 12:45
^^ man i've gotta be doing something wrong w/ my apc's (they're turning out like a pair of stonewashed jeans from the gap, circa 1996).

did you starch those?
Apr 01, 2007 @ 13:22
i just did a bit of spray starching on the backs to get honeycombs cause there pretty loose, other than that its natural
Apr 02, 2007 @ 01:36
just wondering... how do you guys do the first wash?
just throw it in the washer? dry clean?

i threw mine in the washer w/ tooooo much detergent after too short a time span. big mistake.

your best bet is to do a soak. detergents like tide, all, etc., are designed to really get dirt out. they're tough, they get off grime, thats why they're such common household items. unfortunately, when used on raw denim, tide will end up taking all the dye out. if you do a warm soak, the heat of the water will still remove dirt/smells from the jeans, but its gentle, so it wont strip the indigo/dye.

Nudie Slim Jim Dry Japan Indigo. Bought in early October 06

On average, worn around 4 times a week on and off

One Month

Added this sawn off bit of tubing for the snuff tin effect, wasnt too impressive but made the jeans look a bit more unique

Two Months

Around 4 Months wear

Some shots during the 4 Month mark

6 Months. Pre-Wash shots

Rivit missing

After the wash

I was hoping the honeycombs would show up more but the dry japans are pretty soft from the start. Theyve shrank quite a bit, i didnt downsize from the start so waist size was always a bit on an issue, they now fit much better.
