Peace pplz. I'm tryin to step my denim game. I know once I get a decent collection of jeans, the rest is fairly simple. The prob is, I'm 6'4" w/some size 13 kicks. Is it a lost cause to have interest in these new "designer" denims if I'ma look like a clown...literally.

How much sheen does soaking usually take off selvedge. I kind of want to soak my gaps but i like the sheen that comes with selvedge and raw denim.
March 9, 2007 @ 05:21 PM

The sheen has nothing to do with the selvage/selvedge. Just raw jeans, Rustlers at Wal-Mart are shiny as fuck.

Just a cold soak, wont be much at all. (I guess depending on the jean too)

nice jeans guys! btw there's a lot more stf's on here than superfuture which is good for me, so I can compare them to my own 501's smile I have to start wearing my stfs again though cuz rite now my 501 prewash has better fades and honeycombs than my stf razz

PPL are so cheap that they dont just get a pre distressd pair?

I seen those pics on superfuture and they look so lame....
I mean predistressed imitates long usage, but doesnt replicate it, because it looks wack as fuck. Especially RAW denim.....seriously, who was the guy who said wearing Raw denim for months in a row was cool? or looks good? That fool needs to kicked.

Ok I know you are all obsessed with jeans,. but I actually agree with this guy,. you can spend every hour of the day in your jeans and sleep in em and slowly watch the fading after months which out washing them (which is nasty),. but I am not some hypebeast,. I work in my jeans,. bike in my jeans,. sweat in my jeans,. they get washed once a week and I dont starch them or sit in a tub for hours with them on the make "whiskers" and all that jazz.

You're absolutely right about not being a hypebeast. This has nothing to do with hype. Don't frivolously throw that word around like you think you know what it means. Nobody is telling you to--if you think this forum started this phenomenon for denim, then you're dead wrong.

Secondly, no one will take your logic seriously by refuting something with "but I am no hypebeast." That is just pathetic.

The process of people jumping on the bandwagon with no more than just a slew of vapid inquiries is the epitome of a "hypebeast" that you speak of.

I work in my jeans,. bike in my jeans,. sweat in my jeans,. they get washed once a week and I dont starch them or sit in a tub for hours with them on the make "whiskers" and all that jazz.

Obviously, this isn't for you then. Congrats. Welcome to the evolution thread. You did know that right?

well let me rephrase that

I'm not going to follow the hype of spending 200 dollars on a pair of raw denim and wearing it everyday,. I'll stick to cheap pair and where it when I feel like it and wash it when it smells lol,.

Trust me, this "hype" you speak of will be dead and this will be forgotten (hopefully sooner than later.) For the sake of denim enthusiasts out there, I hope people get bored with this and give up after their first year and go back to whatever they were wearing.

It's better that way anyway--people who're getting into it are in it for the wrong reasons.

So. Good for you.

I've worn my LVC's to work (loading trucks at Fed Ex) but it didnt do much but make them dusty.
March 15, 2007 @ 12:40 AM

ive never had a pair of raw denim that smelled.

My LVC's at 6 months, first pic with flash the rest aren't. Brightened up a little up in photoshop but pretty close to true color, little warm though.

They look kind've wide, but it's because they're so short (too short) (30w 32l) they fit pretty slim as you all've seen

some levi's raw capital e's. lasted realllllly long for what i paid (free). decided to retire after the second crotch hole and ink stain, i still skate in them.

the change in color from when they were fresh to now:

pics from the first day of my cheap mondays. so far so good. already some honeycombs, great stacking, and i like them because theyre elastic-y and kind of stretchy. not bad for the price.

Yeah the thing I hate about Cheap Mondays is that their back pockets are MASSIVE. Apart from that they are pretty good for the price.

I got a pair of Dry slim jims in the mail should arrive early next week. smile I'll post pics when I wear them in razz

Guys that's why people usually have a rotation of some sort . Whether it's switching out raw pairs every few weeks or not wearing your projekt jeans on the weekends so they can get some air , your jeans won't stink if you give them time off once in awhile or rotate them .
Of course you must practice proper bodily hygiene as well .
Funny thing about my denim projects is I have 3 pairs in rotation , and possibly a 4th soon and that means I won't be washing any of them for at least 2 years ( 6 months split between the 4 )

crazy ey .. suprised
