if you want honeycombs on your deep indigos, don't soak yet. I soaked too early and they wont fade there at all. I would probably have to ride a bike all day every day.

They take for ever to fade. I've got probably the same amount of wear time as you but I don't do anything in them. Seems like you need like 5 yrs in em to get any good fades.

I don't really like phone fades either. I just stick mine in my back pocket. Would rather have the front looking clean with just whiskers. The phone fade just throws it off

Keeping your phone in your back pocket is fine too, but that also seems kinda inconvenient to me haha. I don't wanna sit on that or ride my bike with it there, etc. I'm not gonna go out of my way for it and the whole point of raw denim is to look natural and 'naturally' people keep their phones in their front pocket haha. Either way it doesn't really throw shit off for me, if jeans look good, they look good.

I also prefer clean fades over cell phone fades.
However I won't change my routine for that.
When I'm walking around and listen to music I keep my phone in the front pocket.
When I carry a bag i try to leave the phone in there as long as possible.

at a guess id say the first lot of pics is after wearing and second is straight post wash hence the shape difference

The sams were my first real denim project so it was a while ago and i was into it back then. Next pair im probably not gonna have cell fade. It is natural to put my phone in my backpocket rather then front. Also i dont really care for front pocket fades either

I feel like those pics aren't doing them justice, lighting looks bad, the jeans look faded nicely in the bottom left picture because the light shines on 'em good.

They don't look true to color because there is a huge shadow on the left leg on the jeans on all the pictures... lol
