hey guys. i just bought my first raw denim. its from 10 deep and is called the slim and straight denim. heres a link: www.karmaloop.com/products.aspx?ProductID=58357&VendorCode=10D.

well first i bought a size 32 and the waist was just a bit loose but everything else was perfect! they stacked really nice and werent too tight. well since they were raw and i know that raw denim stretches, i returned them and got a size 30. now the waist is nice and snug but everything else is a lot tighter (obviously). but i really liked how the size 32 fit except for the waist. so my question is would the size 30 stretch out a little but and be loose like a size 32? please help out im new to the denim thing. thanks.

I can't comment on those jeans in particular, but raw denim does tend to stretch a bit. Stretching varies a lot between different brands/cuts of jeans so it is really hard to say exactly how much these will. Stretching occurs because of the pressure your body exerts on the denim itself, so if these fit snug in the waist they will likely stretch to a more comfortable fit (minimizing the pressure on the denim). Most stretching occurs in the waist/thigh area though, so if you are looking for the jeans to stretch out a lot in the leg I wouldn't count on it.

APC vs Uniqlo - quality-wise for raw selvage?

Also how do sizes work for each? I've read APC is size down 1-2 and Uniqlo sounds like stay true or size up 1.

APC is better quality wise. APC you typically size down 1-2 sizes depending on the cut because of the vanity sizing (waist is really tag size +2 inches) and the stretching properties of the denim. You typically gonna wanna size down about 2 for the New Standards and 1-2 for New Cures and Petite Standards (depending on your build). From what I have read Uniqlo's are usually true in the waist but sometimes people size up on the T-000 because they fit a bit tight. To be honest I'm more knowledgeable about APC sizing than Uniqlo sizing so you may want to research the thread on here a little before making a decision.

what do you guys think is the best pair of jeans to get after some APC PS? Something a little more expensive, better built, etc, but same aesthetics and fit

I am looking to buy some new denim and I have it narrowed down to 2 options. I want a slimmer fit than my Sugar Cane 66's.

1. Skull s5010xx 6X6
2. Eternal 811

Which one will be the better option?

Any experiences with either or advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance

skull 5010xx would be the slimmer of the 2. eternal 811's are slightly looser with a larger leg opening. Both weigh 14.5oz, so if your heading toward a slimmer fit, then skulls should be good.

Wash them or dab the spot with warm water (or maybe a spot cleaner), kind of hard to say without knowing the extent of the stain.

You size down from your actual waist measurement. So if you measure your own waist at 33 inches then you are probably gonna go with a size 31 pair of New Standards. Sorry about the delay in reply, was gone for the weekend.

Okay. I ordered sz26 ps and measured myself at 28.5 so I'm good?
And I kinda sag little bit so will that affect the stretching?
Thank you for answering

Eh, that may be a little tight depending on the fit you are going for and your body type. You definitely won't be able to sag at first, but maybe after 2-3 weeks you could a little. Sagging usually stretches them out more in the waist, but I'd be more worried about the thigh/leg than the waist. If anything just return em for a size up if they are too tight for you.

Was going for slim fit.
Not skinny. Similar to 511s cut with slight more taper

When a pair of jeans have 70% cotton 30% PES. 10.5 oz fabric
does this mean they stretch more than the usuall (%100 cotton) made jeans? what is the difference between those pairs in terms of stretching and sizing?

I wear a size 29x32 in Levis 511 and I'm thinking about getting a pair of STFs. How much should I size up to get the closest fit to the Levis 511 or a nice slim fit.

It'll be hard to get a slim fit with the STF, since the 501 is a straight, at times mildly tapered fit. You would have to go true to size and take a lot of pain due to the shrinkage to achieve a near 514 fit

Yes. They'll shrink down past your true waist, creating tension, which is pain when worn.

It should, and its easier to when the waist is a bit damp. Though when washed/hotsoaked again, they'll shrink and you'll have to go through the stretching again.

^^thanks.

i have one more question. lets say you wear a pair of raw denim for a year straight with no washes or soaks. will the they still fade good when you finally wash/soak 'em? also, if the denim isn't raw anymore, will it still shrink?
