What jeans are you thinking about buying first? Without that information we can't help you with sizing down / sizing up / staying true to size.

So my true waist is 26.5", right below the ribcage, obviously I wouldn't wear my denim this high. My low cut (inch or two below navel) measurement is 29"... I'm not sure which I should size down from, can anyone provide insight?

Lol. I think you mean "hip" and "waist."

I always thought the rise of jeans were how low they sit on your hips. I read a post that stating that it was the zipper? If so then how can I tell how a pair of jeans sit cause I prefer my jeans a bit low to expose my underwear waistband.

Alright so, I asked earlier about shrinking my LVC 1947's. Based on these quick homo pictures, should I shrink them in really hawt water, or some normal warm water? If you can tell, I want them to be a bit more forming in the thigh-waist area.

My hips are more like 31, I don't sag OD so I didn't think it would matter if I posted it.

Looking at Nudie SJAOs or GTDDOs. I've looked around and I think I know how much I want to size down, just not sure from which measurement. If you have a reccomendation though, by all means.

In general rule for nudies you should size down at least 1.

Go ahead, if it looks wack to you just tweak it while your wearing them semi-damp, and let it dry while you wear and they should stay that way.

well you soak

Do you have an estimation on how much raw denim shrinks length wise? Im about to soak before hemming

unsanforized could shrink up to to 2inches in length. If you occassionally pull the inseam itll help keep the shrinking to a slight minimum i never did that with my 501stf after soaking to lazy, but some people around here have said that.

naw it should handle a few soaks. Usually first soak makes them really hard.
what denim do you have?

there is honestly no point naked and famous are sanforized. If youve been wearing them for a while now an they are loose then soaking is fine, but theyll stretch back again.
Since you mentioned the denim you have your inseam isnt gonna shrink much being sanforized denim.

^^ it's only for shrink to fit denim, unsanforized; or unstarched. in other words, if your denim is "shiny" or has that "raw sheen," its starched. you do not need to soak these jeans before you wear them because they are not shrink to fit. intial soaks are for shrinking stf denim to your desired size.

yeah, but let's say you don't soak or wash at all, would it stretch after weeks of wear?

Levi's STF Question
I recently got some Levi's STF and went one size up from my real waist size. (34 from 33). I hot soaked my denim 3 times and the waist size is still big for me. Also, the thigh area has a lot of room.

There was hardly any change, if not no change from the 2nd soak to 3rd soak (and on the 3rd soak I had the jeans in the water longer). Btw I let the jeans dry first from soak to soak if that makes any difference.

My question is, should I just try soaking again, to see if the waist will shrink? Or should I just put the jeans in the wash?

As of now the jeans are still really stiff. If I put the jeans in the wash, will I lose all the stiffness?

Thanks.
