when i first get raws what do i do for soaking?

PS: theres levis 501

are they 501xx "shrink to fits"? if they are, clean your bathtub, fill it with the hottest water from your pipe and submerge the jeans fully for a good 30 mins. if you want to go for an hour go ahead, i usually go an hour, but that's just me. or take the eco-friendly route: you can fill a bucket with hot water and soak it in there.

January 11, 2009 @ 20:57:39

January 11, 2009 @ 21:02:33

I'm new to this denim thing. What is the difference between STF 501s opposed to just regular 501s
January 12, 2009 @ 18:53:08
STF's are raw.
January 12, 2009 @ 18:53:29
regular 501's have already gone through the process of the shrinking, and may over go some distress or wash.

501 STF's are regular raw, and you have to soak them so they shrink and fit.

Anyone recommend me some strong denim that I can wear daily with a lot of abuse (like riding a bike, going on long walks) stuff like that? I have a pair of Hundreds 'classic' denim that I'm growing to hate. Been wearing them for about 5 months and the crotch is starting to go and the inseem is all worn-out.
January 14, 2009 @ 19:45:33
ok I gona need someone to answer that has a wide sizing knowledge, I measured my waist and even got someone else to and its 30 and over 31ish lower where I usually wear my jeans.

So i sized down 2 with new standards (to a 2 smokeyface and they were way too big (they were 2nd hand and could of been stretched by previous owner.)

I then got some new cures in 29 (sized down 1) and they look too big for new cures even though i sized down 1

I use to wear grim tims in size 30 which looked like this

so I guess there true to size.

So im really keen on getting some lvc, probaly the 1947's but I wouldnt have a clue on how to size, I sized up on some regular 501's along time (size 33) ago but they came out alot big and baggy after the hot wash. Its wierd my waist is 30.31 but as you can see by my fit pics you wouldnt think so ,any insight?

yer thanks but judging by the sizing of my previous jeans what size? I would say my real waist is 30 and get a 32 ,but my new cures are size 29 and it doesnt look like I sized down at all, getting my point? so even though my waist measures 30 maybe a 31 is actually sizing up 2 in different sense. kinda hard to explain.
January 15, 2009 @ 19:49:53
i just got milk spilt on my denim ive been going on for about 5 months no washes no soaks im thinking about a hot soak any advice?
January 15, 2009 @ 22:09:11
does it smell? if not dont worry about it.
January 16, 2009 @ 22:51:40

dreamkast.

this is basically how it is.

APC's are vanity sized. it basically means. what ever the size is on the tag, add 2.

for example. my true waist is a 29. my new cures are 27 and they are quite loose now because ive stretched them out and i got skinnier, i shudv got 26

your new standards look really big because its already stretched out and its not a slim cut.

your new cures look not that skinny either because you only sized down 1 to a 29. when u shudv sized down to a 28 or even a 27 if u wanted a skinny fit.

but im guessing your waist is about 29 not 30... so if u want lvcs then get some in size 31
January 17, 2009 @ 09:15:59
They're a slim straight cut. They're not meant to be "tight." I guess you could size down.
January 17, 2009 @ 12:12:58
Okay, Here is my small question:

I recently decided that i want to start wearing my New Standards again, but its been so long since ive worn them that they have developed some nasty wrinkles. How do i get rid of deez?
January 17, 2009 @ 17:32:38
pictures of these "nasty wrinkles" wud be good.

but im guessing just wear the damn jeans.
January 17, 2009 @ 19:40:04
I just got some apc new cures yesterday. The guy at the store said to use a spray bottle on the bottom of the crotch to prevent blowouts. How often should I do this and if I do it too much will the dye go away?
January 17, 2009 @ 20:14:10
interesting, is it a bottle of starch? more info please, what is it called?
January 17, 2009 @ 20:19:55
no just like a spray bottle of water
