I have some obey denim that I got for 20 bucks and I would like to upgrade. A local shop carries acne raw for pretty cheap but it's jet black. should I go for it?

whats the difference from lighter denim to heavier denim?
thinking about buying the 20oz Unbrandeds coming out soon, but already have some 15oz raws

Think about it as quality based, you won't be that susceptible to rips and such, don't know what kind of cotton your "15oz raw" is or what kind Unbranded used for the 20z(too lazy to search) but probably are different. Different type of cotton used to weave the denim will result in different effects/fades.

can somebody break down the difference/pros/cons of sanforized vs. unsanforized? and are my 3sixteen ST-100s sanforized or unsanforized?

you 316's are Sanforized.

difference is that UnSanforized denim you should/must soak before wear to shrink then denim..just like Levi's STF if you've ever had those. You don't really have to soak but later on once you wash them the fades will shift since the denim will shrink.
Sanforized denim you can wear them as soon you get them. Also they will not shrink that much..probably just as much as any other pair of jeans you would buy from the mall.

There's really no pros or cons that I know of. I guess it just comes down to personal preference. I guess UnSanforized denim you can kinda control the shrink to kinda get more of that perfect fit, but will all denim it will stretch back out.

Maybe others will know if there's actually any pros/cons to them.

I'm sure this is a retarded question, but I've honestly never quite understood: What do you people do that causes thigh fades on jeans? I literally have almost no thigh fade on any of my pairs.

why doesn't' raw denim get dirty/grimy as quick as washed denim?

Creases and folds form into fades over time. If you sit down, and you dont see any creases.folds, you won't get whiskers.

My Deep Indigos hit the 1 year mark in a couple of weeks. They never got in touch with water (except some rain soaks though) would you guys go with a machine wash or a hot soak?

I still can't decide..

Lol it really is up to you man.... Machine wash will maybe yield some contrast fade difference. Hot soak, well probably will shrink your shit a little bit, no agitation.

How do I get rid of the smell? I've done the freezer in the bag thing and that didn't work. I've never worn the jeans and they pretty much came like that smelly lol.
