I was in the chem lab today and for some reason I don't know how some chemical 6M NaOH mixed with concentrated HNO3 got on my APC's and I didn't notice it until I got home. Now that shit won't come off...fuck.

Lightest
Sorry if this has already been asked, but what are some of the lightest weight raw jeans? Hopefully not too ball-huggingly tight, nor overly expensive. Thanks
April 08, 2010 @ 13:57:25

April 08, 2010 @ 15:38:24

April 08, 2010 @ 16:20:24

April 08, 2010 @ 16:30:28

April 08, 2010 @ 20:06:18
This may have been posted before. Didnt wanna go through all the pages. Question is about hemming selvedge? Is it harmful to the denim? will it fuck up the selvedge?
April 08, 2010 @ 22:54:04
^nope
April 10, 2010 @ 12:49:59
Hey, if I have weird guys in a size 29, what should I get for new cures? 29 also?
April 11, 2010 @ 18:13:21
i spilled an entire bottle of sparkling water on 1 leg of my new cures

will this mess up the fading process?
April 11, 2010 @ 18:22:45
yes now you have ed hardy jeans
April 12, 2010 @ 00:02:38
do they have rhinestones?
April 12, 2010 @ 21:17:10
So I bought a pair of sz 30 N&F Skinny Guy's (Indigo Power-Stretch w/ Grey Fill)a couple weeks ago and have been wearing them most days. They're 95% cotton and 5% elastane. They fit good everywhere except the calves area, where the denim hugs my legs and it looks really fucking gay. Will the calves area ever stretch out? Or does denim only stretch out in the thigh area/waist? And also will the elastane also prevent any permanent stretching?

If not, how much should I try to sell them for? I bought them from like 170$ after tax.

And also, would N&F Deep Indigo Selvedge or Lightweight Selvedge fade better?
April 12, 2010 @ 21:22:36
they wont stretch out lol its naturally stretchy so your SOL

i recently washed my levi 511s in the washer...needless to say, they became stiff and a little smaller upon removal. but those two factors aren't really the problem since i expected them to happen after. upon taking them out, i noticed 2 line-idents on both legs of the jeans. what the fuck? not only did they look weird as fuck, they are weird as fuck. someone help me out?
April 12, 2010 @ 21:40:11
That's what I thought... FUCK. LOL.

It's the fucking elastane right? 100% Cotton would stretch out though right?

And so is it just the waist/thigh area the stretches out generally? Or can denim stretch out in the calves area? Not talking about my denim specifically, just denim in general.

for your last question im almost sure the deep indigo is the best N&F has for fading
April 12, 2010 @ 21:53:22
ya reg. jeans stretch but when you wash they usually shrink again but the stretchy kind dont.

How bad of an idea would it be to hem my Samurais which I have already been wearing for 9 months and washed once? Will it make the fading look weird, or really weird? Cause I don't care if it looks really weird, I've grown sick of the stacking.
April 13, 2010 @ 11:23:29
Not a bad idea at all, just get them hemmed. Better late than never.

just hem them, the old stacks will still sit like how they did pre hem cuz they shouldnt be ironed out by the tailor
April 16, 2010 @ 01:02:45
In regards to Samurai's, lots pretty much mean the the production year right? for instance lot 12 would be older than lot 13. Do they all have the same consensus in terms of sizing? and it doesn't really matter which lot you get right? or are there any special fading properties within each lot? sorry for noob questions! thanks
April 16, 2010 @ 10:36:05
they are changing the jeans a little bit from lot 12 to 13, not sure what changes they made, but i think BiG says something about this
April 16, 2010 @ 15:14:48
I don't see any difference in description between the pair on BiG. Can anyone confirm this?
April 17, 2010 @ 19:16:02
I was thinking of re-starching my a.p.c's. does it mess up with the fading, whiskers, etc?
April 17, 2010 @ 20:37:16
It shouldn't affect fading. It has the potential to be harmful to the fabric though, be sure to wash it out when they become soft again.

Newer lots are going to fit a teeny bit smaller, not so much that it'll make huge fit differences tho. With the lots, they'll change the samples a bit as a model pair for others to be produced. It usually has to do with minor measurement differences tho, everything else should be the same.

The two are listed under different items, one a lot 12, the other a lot 13. The lot 12 has a link to the lot 13 in the description.
April 17, 2010 @ 22:21:34
u mean like rips and tears?
April 18, 2010 @ 01:09:21
Yep. Having starch in the denim makes the fabric more prone to rips and tears.
