i have a question, on all my skinny, slim straight jeans i wear 32 30, and near the ankle area its really fat from the back but from the front it looks nice and bagggy which i like, but in the back its totally ugly like it stands out and its like my legs are all skinny then once it reaches above the ankle it starts to get fat... how can i solve this? am i buying the wrong size? ill post a pic if needed, this is urgent

@lee, doesn't baggy mean fat in a sense? If it looks fat in the back and looks baggy in the front, doesnt that mean the same thing?

I have a quick question, I pretty much know nothing about denim and don't want to by a very expensive pair and not like the fit or mess them up. I like a slim fit Jean and I want to try some raw denim out. I am usually the one to tell people to go with what feels best for them, but alot of you here seem very knowledgable.

I am about 5'7" and 150 lbs, what do you think would be an alright size to start with? In prewashed jeans I usually wear 31 w 30L, is the 501xx STF a good pair to start with? Because right now that's about my price range. Maybe 65 to 100 bucks at the most.

Thanks in advance to anyone with some suggestions.

All the models you listed are slimmer than the new standards. Just size them correctly and you should be good.

32" is good, just say you want the inseam to be hemmed to that length and nothing else.

edit or delete orucker's post.

this is one of the URLs he linked to: http://gallery.me.com/o_rucker/100120/IMG_0289/web.jpg?ver=12656516110001

obviously you need a password for it, and when nothing is entered, no images show, nor do the links.

Ha ok can anybody put me on the right track. I'm new to all this and most of my denim is not to my liking. I currently wear gap standard fit jeans, and have like 2 pairs of BR straight fits.I dont have any Levi's! But now I want some slim fitting denim that stacks and has nice quality. I feel like I have hella jeans when I don't even need so many people on here only have like 5 pairs. So can somebody please tell me some brands i should look into? I'ma 31 32 if that matters.

is riding a bike everyday in raw denim a good idea?

biking is a great way to set combs and work the denim, but you might want to be careful to not be moving over the saddle too much; a bike seat fade is no good.

also majorly weakens the crotch area and be careful with the denim near the chain, a bike seat fade isn't a big deal.

you're trying way too hard with this.
just wear the denim as much as you can and eventually you'll see progress.

What are some good pre-washed denim that looks good when sagged? Besides Levis.

just had a small question (pretty damn naive too i bet), for a good slim, fitted look are levi 514s better or levi 501 STFs? i got 514s and i do like the fit but do the STFs shrink to a more fitted look (generally)? Or are there other levis around the same price points that are more fitted/slim?
