Small DENIM Questions Thread

October 06, 2009 @ 14:45:07
Do NS have more of a stretch through wear than NC, or are they both the same?
October 06, 2009 @ 15:09:23
Same denim, same stretch (theoretically speaking, of course).
October 06, 2009 @ 16:15:19
If i iron my jeans with starch will that take away the honeycombes and whiskers?

Yes, your applying pressure and heat which will flatten your denim, but you can wear them 'back'.

would sizing down 1on stf's make a slimmer cut and would the waist stretch back out?
October 06, 2009 @ 21:33:18
Yes, and yes. But, there are enough brands and models out there such that you can have a slimmish fit without the initial discomfort in the waist.

ive got a pair of selvedge jeans and wanted to get them hemmed. Is it better to euro hem or no? Should I even hem at all O_O would it ruin the lining or whatever? Im gonna take it to my normal tailor to get my normal euro hem
October 07, 2009 @ 17:41:18
Why would u take selvage to a regular tailor. Make sure its a tailor who can deal with the selvage stitching.

Will a hot soak affect fading on raw denim?

And if i soak my denim, will it stretch very quickly?

?

hoe

October 08, 2009 @ 07:56:27
It'll get rid of some sheen, but some pairs actually start fading faster after a soak.

It won't speed up the process of stretching or anything though.

So I got some new Evisu's which I wanna make a project of, but I'm not sure what to do: they're about 34'' inseam and I need something in between 31''/32''. I can either cuff them twice, cuff them once and get a bit of stacks or not cuff them at all. Is it better to not cuff them at the beginning to let the stacks settle in? Because depending on the shoes I wear I like the way cuffing looks (e.g. not with Half Cabs, but I do like it with authentics/era's). Right now I'm doing the cuff once, giving a little bit of stacking.

Any thoughts/advice?

Cuff them a little bit if u have too. To many cuffs look weird. I rock a 30 inseam. and they dont give allot of good stacks. so i would say keep it cuffed a little bit and get them stacks in
October 09, 2009 @ 22:35:36
If you switch around with cuffs back and forth does it fuck with your stacks? because i like it without cuffing but sometimes i like it with cuffing.

Jet black jeans probably have the warp and weft dyed black, and/or coated.

Thanks man for the help

I like the Imperial King fit a lil better. Just need to find a place or way to cop them cheaper.

But I have question! If I usually wear 32-34 and I want some jeans that are size 30. Is there a way to make them fit (stretch)?
