I been lookin for some black denim and i need some help on which to choose as I live in Pittsburgh and we dont have any quality denim stores around.
I was thinking about some samurai's because I hear theyre just coated black and fade really nicely. But then i hear their stiff as hell, do they eventually break in or?

Then there was APC NS black and maybe even some Diors if i could find some.

Any help is appreciated..samurais/diors...suggestions?

As far as fit Im into the levi 511, nudie even steven type fit. thanks ahead of time.

I have this pair of black overdyed 501's but since they are 2' or 3' TOO long, I was thinking about getting that tailored to get the tapered fit (I dint know if I should do it because they might look weird) OR just cut the extra 3" (of the length)

so i just bought some black 501 STFs. i really like the raw look of jeans and don't care too much for fades and such.

id still like to shrink them a little bit first, though. should i still soak before wearing, and is there a way to do that without losing much of the inidigo/raw look?

if you like the raw look just go return them for a smaller size.

Sorry if this question has been answered in this thread, but I didn't feel like reading all the pages...

Anyway I just got a pair of raw levi's 501's and i love the way they look and fit but the damn things feel like cardboard they're so damn stiff... what can I do to break them in and make them a little softer (and possibly a bit more fitted) without washing them? thanks in advance

how'd i know that "wear em" would be the first answer i got...thanks genius

anyway, would soaking them help? cuz i have a pair of the same jeans only a different color that werent so stiff when i first got em, but i wore them to the rutgers football game last week and they got soaked in the rain and since they dried they are mad comfortable

They are called 501 S.T.Fs for a reason. As in Shrink To Fit. Usually on the jeans they have a label for you to sit in a warm bath with the jeans on so they shrink and conform to your body.

So in essence, you purchase them large, then shrink them to fit around your body. As in Shrink-To-Fit.

ditto. unless they smell or have some stain on them i'd hold off. they barely look worn.
