Yo, I will copping some APC Petit Standards doon.

I know they stretch herefore I should get 1 or 2 sizes down.

Are they all LENGTH 34?

Will they shrink after first wash lengthwise? Will they shrink to the original waist after washing?

Should I be able to button them up when buying them or should they just fit really tight on the waist when bought?

How do I wash them? What's the deal with soaking them in the bath and will the stiff raw denim become nice and stretchy after a while? How long will this take?
do not wash them when you receive them. they are sanforized so will nto shrink when you do your first wash.

just wear them and after about 20 days they'll be softer and molding to your body.

and if you can button up atleast two buttons then just wait it out to stretch,

and also be careful with the knees and to not bend them too much at the start

Be about it

I don't know which I want more NC or PS. I'm also having trouble deciding on which size I should get either in. Can you guys help me?

I measured a pair of PBJ xx-010 that I had tapered:

Waist measures at about 16.25in across.

Upper thigh is about 11in across.

The knee is about 7.5in across.

How it looks on me:

Which style is closest to my xx-010?

Well, I tapered these. They used to be straight to the leg opening. I had them tapered to like 6.5-7in leg opening.

Look into xx-011 and xx-013. Those are the two tapered cuts that pbj offers.

mrunicorn, I'd say get a PS size 30 because it has an 11 in thigh and 7 in leg opening. It has an 8 in knee though, so if you want it close to your pbj's get that tailored to a 7.5 in knee. Hope that helps!

The waist of a PS in size 30 would stretch to about 32ish?

I don't really understand. I buy my Petit Standards 1 or 2 sizes to small, they are very hard and uncomfy, I wear them and with the time they become soft and stretchy and comfortable? And when they are soft and stretchy I can wash them? What happens in the wash to them?

Well, what happens when you wash things is that they become clean.

Lol.

You lose some of the indigo and depending on whether you wash them hot or cold they'll shrink.

Are there any other brands with small/normal sized back pockets, or is APC the only one?

I think Naked and Famous and Unbranded both have relatively large back pockets

Relative to what? 3Sixteens have large pockets. Unbranded and N&F are both smaller than those, and just slightly larger than APCs. I'd call them normal-sized.

iPhone quality for now since the DSLR is home, anyway figured I'd post this since I'm working on a new pair of NC's anyway. These are PS's with multiple soaks, maybe 1 wash? Around 1-2 years old.

Here's a sorta better pic to show the difference.

No, there are different inseams. I measured my PS size 27 yesterday and the inseam was 32". According to context the inseam ranges from 32-35"

^ Ok. I've heard it's 34 for sizes 29 and under and 36 for size 30 and over. Either way for your height you should be fine.
