Hey guys, first time post here. I just got a pair of Petit Standard's size 31. Here's a little background: At first I got the size 30 and the 31 to see which one I liked best.
My last pair of raws:
Now my last pair of raws were the Naked and Famous left hand twill weird guys size 29 and even after 8 months they dug into my stomach and caused some discomfort. I managed to get the waist band on those suckers to stretch, however, I could still not get rid of the stomach digging. My goal with these next pair of raws were to get something that would be comfortable (in a somewhat quick time frame). No matter how good something looks, discomfort is not a good style.
The 30s:
After wearing the APC PS 30s for about 6 days I decided that they had not become comfortable enough to continue with. They did stretch out to a comfortable size while standing, but when sitting I was getting some really intense abdominal pains. When I first put the 30s on I was barely able to get the top button on. After 2 days of wear that was not really a problem. Also the rise was really intense on the 30s. I was constantly adjusting my junk.
The 31s:
The 31s on the other hand felt amazing. The first time wear was easy to get the buttons all on. Sitting was uncomfortable for the first few hours. After a 3 days of wearing them they have become quite roomie. I know that is a bad sign, but the 30's drastically different. Sitting is no problem in the 31's and so far they are not showing any signs of wanting to fall off.
The verdict: I know for a fact that the 30s look better. They portray more of the styling that the Petit Standard were meant to give. The 31's on the other hand make me feel less like I am damaging my internal organs (I am super surprised that there could be such a jump from one size). But.. when looking at the measurements, the PS 31 is not that far off from the N&F jean I have been wearing, which I really enjoy (sans waist pinch). So I am thinking that if I continue with the 31s I should be able to get a not too skinny looking jean like my N&F with a more comfortable waist. On top of that I might get to start sporting my leather Corter belt if they stretch too wide
