New Standards tagged 27, my waist is 30". Two months of wear and I'm loving the fit right now. Only worry is that over time they're going to stretch into a baggy mess in which case I'm considering getting the inseam tappered. Any thoughts?

My PS are 2 weeks old and the knee stretched like crazy already too..

Sized down 2

nah thats some bullshit, my petit standards size 29 have been worn day in day out and slept over about 70 days, and the top button is still pretty annoying to get done. The top button was the only one i couldn't get done up when i got them brand new also. So if you feel like wearing some fucking uncomfortable, skin tight jeans for well over two months just to have them stretch out enough for you to get the second to last button up finally, then be my guest.

youre a fucking retard

you are supposed to fucking sag the jeans on your hips and itll stretch out by 2 weeks at the latest

after that the jeans will be fine if you get em too big youre going to regret it later on

Whoah did I hit a nerve there choir boy? nah see here's where you dun goofed:
1) I never stated how I wore my jeans in the process
2) I wear them as sagged as they can possibly be (how the fuck can you sag jeans that are too tight even for your waist? unless you got some fucking ironing board ass)
3) I've had 2 pairs of apc petit standards size 29 and 30, the size 30s i had worn for 4 months and even they didn't stretch a lot, still no trouble keeping them up.
4) curb stomp yourself

^ ignore the troll guys

obviously he isnt sagging correctly if they arent stretching

and it also helps to size down correctly dont lie to yourself
Jul 07, 2012 @ 22:52
Wtf...how is there a wrong way to sag? You guys are idiots!

Ive worn my ps down 2 or tts..depending how you look at it for about a month or more and I wouldnt really say they stretched but more of loosened up. I dont really button the top one since I dont want it to stretch a lot but I wear a belt.

Wondering if it would be a bad idea to size down 3 on the petit standards or do i risk crushing my balls
Jul 08, 2012 @ 05:00
depends how skinny you are, I'm pretty sure it would be a bad idea, you can size down 3 from new standards though

Do not size down three, that would be death. Going tts will be good for the first couple of wears but that shit will stretch like crazy. Size down two or one depending on how skinny you want it. I sized down two and that shit was heaps tight but now they've stretched out perfectly.

Cheers cubie!
I think I'll go for the 32.

Not 100% sure on this issue, but (from my recent purchase experience) APC doesn't seem to do vanity sizing anymore. Can someone confirm this?

Im a 34 waist and got 32, and i could button the top button with ease. I think i should have went with a 31.

Dont get a 34, a tagged 34 in Petit Standards will equal a 36 waist. My tagged 32 measured 17 inches flat.

Go with 32 or even 31

Bought a pair of PS off TBS a couple of weeks ago and they were still vanity sized.

Got a fit picture of your PS out of curiousity?

28 NC's. My true upper waist is 30.5', lower waist 32.5'. Should I go for 29' in PS for a bit more relaxed fit to wear with shoes/boots?

I would never wear PS with boots, leg opening is just too slim
Jul 11, 2012 @ 21:10
Are the APC's on Tres Bien vanity sized?

I've been beating up my APC PS for 5-6months now and the crotches blew out, anybody else having same problem? I planning to do the first wash... but after that need a new pair of raw denims, any suggestions? I like the fit of APC PS though..
Jul 12, 2012 @ 07:35
Why don't you just patch it up?

Get em patched man. My crotch started to get tattered on my NC's and the tailor got em fixed up easily.

^you could probably learn how to do it yourself too if you don't wanna spend that bread on getting them patched.

yeah ive done that, but I believe there could be a better jeans with no more breaking like Sean Hotchkiss of GQ says:

3x1 M5
"I rarely buy a jean on repeat and I like to roll with a few at a time. It's nice to spend some time on each pair and really get to know them. I wore a couple pairs of APC petite standards for four years until the crotches blew out, and I'm currently in 3x1 M5's (washed once, no more breaking in raw denim for me, ever) and BLK DNM medium blues that I absolutely love. Next up? Baldwin Henleys in California Wash for the summer. That should cover my jean spectrum...for now."—Sean Hotchkiss, The GQ Eye

decided to measure my waist size, and what do you know? A nigga actually went up two inches smh. I originally was a 30" waist probably a year ago and copped a tagged size 28 ps. My conclusion: APC has definitely not modified their fit, and I'm a dumbass. Sizing down 2 on ps isn't really that bad anyway.
