Is there much a difference in ps vs nc? Been lurking and havent been able to find a good explanation. Would everyone recommend 2 sizes down for both?

yes. there is a huge difference between ps and nc. ive had a petit standard before and the thighs are pretty big and it tapers. The new cure is very tight in the thighs and has a bigger leg opening than petit and also has no visible selvage line because of the cut, but is still selvage denim.

After ocean soak

High difference of contrast / indigo is because of different lighting.. It's not that light/it's not that dark

Those are definitely the way to go for APC's. The next step to your endeavor is to actually wash it. The salt in the water leftover will slowly deteriorate your jeans and SIGNIFICANTLY lower it's life. Wash it now and perhaps again in another week because the salt will break down the jeans and destroy it. Other than that it looks great.

Always real roughest vintage or raw denim rag items wanted, no matter how ugly, stained, dirty, filthy. Thanks for sustaining Europes largest non commercial denim rag collection founded in the Swiss mountains in 1973 at a time when teachers and parents didn't like rock music, long hair and worn out jeans at all (12'000 items).
The Jeansmuseum encourage people to wear the hell out of their raw denim stuff as long as possible. But just never throwing them away. All your beloved favorite items can survive for ever on a safe place in the Jeansmuseum in the real world not on the virtuel web only, what they deserve after a hard and long life.

Hey guys, bit of a stupid question but, is there any difference between colors? I currently have a pair of Raw Petit Standards and want to get a pair of Black ones. Can I assume they will be an identical fit? I tried on my 33/34 Raws and paid full price for a perfect fit however I can get them about $90 cheaper online. Also how do black jeans age?
Apr 14, 2012 @ 05:28
Get the black jeans, they age very well. They fade pretty fast as long as you wear them well BLACKers92.

A quick question: I got my jeans about 8 months ago, washed them after 6 and a half, and they look great. But, I just noticed some wearing around the crotch area... is this normal? is there anything i can do about it? please and thank you blushing

i have a quick question. i wear a 34 in unbranded tapered fit (tts), what apc should i get for the same fit and how should i size on them? i know this has probably been asked a million times but i went back about 20 pages and couldn't find an answer.

Does anyone else feel like the rise on Petit Standards is too low,the middle seam gives me an annoy feeling in my balls if i dont sag quite a bit,or if I sit down for awhile, theyre not even tight either since I only sized down one,def wont be buying another pair of jeans with the same rise measurements as these.

Sizing down 3 on NS is pretty loose. You should probably size down 4 or even 5 for an optimal fit. The general consensus for New Standards nowadays is to size down 4, while sizing down 3 if you're going NC or PS.

Does anyone know if there's a place in Toronto that sells apc ps? I don't want to order a pair and send it back if it doesn't fit and pay all the shipping fees to send back and get a new pair.

Btw, I wear size 31, should I size down 2 or 3 for ps for skinnier fit.

Sorry if this has been asked before (as Im sure it has in 450+ pages), but can someone give me a quick run down on the best care for APC's. I've had my NS's for about 7 months and have worn them pretty hard.

I dry cleaned them after 6 months as per the instructions; but now I'm curious to how people like to care for them.

What do you all do after that. Cold soak once in a while? Do you ever throw em in the laundry? What's your typical routine? What do you do in case of spills or whatever that need immediate attention? Just curious to see how everyone treats em.
Apr 19, 2012 @ 20:18
What size would you recommend in the PS for someone 6'3" 31/32 waist (I'm pretty skinny), looking for a pretty slim fit

I wear size 31 and I was going to go with a 29 but I'm not really sure how much they'd stretch cos I think some have gone down 3 sizes. Gonna go try a pair on if Dutil has any and see how well a 29 fits sometime next week.

The considered norm would be soaking after 6 months and repeating the cycle.

But there truly isn't specific instructions on how to care for them. Do what you feel is necessary to your jeans.

Maybe you should soak them or wash them to get some contrast but it really is up to you.

I'm on my second pair of NC now and I highly recommend NEVER washing. It really softens up the denim and it becomes more susceptible to crotch rips.
