i ordered some new standards and sized down 1.
they are a little bit too big, should i order another size down or will they shrink after the first wash?

no order another size down, they are only going to get bigger from this point on. Dont ever rely on washing your jeans to make them fit, i made this mistake with my first pair of N&F and the results were horrific. size down again and hopefully they will be too tight, then they will stretch to perfection

I wear size 31 Levis, 30 uniqlo, 29 N&F wg. Should I get a 28 or 29 NS?

I had a 31.5" waist last time i measured but could be 32" now

I'd go with a 29, sizing down 4 from your true waist is unnecessary.

Does anybody know if they black APC NS stretch out as much as the indigo one's? I bought a 28 because 29 in indigo stretched out way too much for me.

Nah the black's shouldn't stretch as much. Usually people say to size down 1 for blacks and 2 for indigos

The creator of the new thread said this:
It seems like the old thread is not working correctly. It does not update any posts
and besides, it's time for a new thread.

But I don't know if that's legit. There doesn't seem to be a problem with this one to me, but whatever I'll just post in both until this gets sorted out.

wherever there is tension in the fabric. the thighs, knees, and sometimes calves will all stretch in addition to the waste

well the waist (and knees) stretch a lot because the is a "push pull motion" and constant movement in those areas. When you walk your ass, hips, and upper thighs pull and move the denim around, and even though they are not necessarily tight, the fabric is still being stretched and pulled in those areas. it will add less than an inch but definitely something noticeable. With enough time, it takes a very little amount of tension to stretch cotton fibers.

for your second question, the denim does shrink more relative to how much youve stretched it but I believe (and someone correct me if im wrong) that the measurements will be the same post soak. For instance, lets say your knee measurement goes from 7" to 7.5" back to 7.1" after washing. But on the same pair there is less tension for some reason, and it only goes from 7.1"-7.3" back to 7.1". Now technically there is more shrinkage but the post wash measurement should be the same

I’m sure this has been answered a few times already, and I apologize for not being able to look around for it.. But I am thinking of buying some APC NS's and I’m wondering how to size? I’ve heard size down 1 or size down 2? What do you think? I’m about a 29-30. Thanks for the help, it’s appreciated.
Also, whats the difference between NS and PS?

You need to take 2 seconds and do the research yourself...if you need any additional help then ask. You can probably find your answer on the previous page since this thread has at least 5 sizing questions per page. So quit being lazy.

since I'm already typing I'll just say size UP 2 on the NS for a skinny fit. They'll shrink with lots of wear so don't worry and you heard wrong about sizing.

There's two threads because this thread was jacked up several weeks ago. Post were not loading. It happened for the N&F thread to for about two days.
