Asian or not, if your 6'1" it's gonna be hard to achieve that look with APC's.

i do sag my jeans as much as chang so i don't think i'd need a 29

the legs still fit slim on him in that pic

but i think chang is asian and short lol so idk

anyone else?

I believe he sized down. I remember talking to him about it, and he said they just stretched an assload over a long period of time.

They ahve 34" as McTease said. And 34" is pretty much normal. 38"-40" is long. Even 36".

Just size down two, and you'll be fine.

You're not going to get a fit like Chang's, but if you're aiming for APC NS then that's how you should fit.

Yes it is.

People hype the sizing down because APC tends to be a intro to raw denim for alot of people, and they don't understand it stretches. I sized down 1 in NC, and the waist sometimes feels too tight after wearing them for a long time. I've worn them for 2 months (whiskers are already fading) so they're done stretching,

Well let me rephrase it.

I come in here way too much, and see people telling others to size down 3 in NC because they will stretch alot, and sizing down 2 would mean they would be too big after stretching.

I sized down 1 in NC, and they are almost perfect fit now, sometimes a little too tight after long wears. And when I say tight, I don't mean in the legs, I mean in the waist. They will still sometimes leave a little indent on my hips.

And I've seen people size down 4 in NC (No idea how they got their nuts in there) because they're afraid of overstretching.

So it's some hype.

Does soaking/washing help honeycombs become more defined?

Yes and no. You wear the jeans for so long without washing them because when you do finally wash them you want the best possible contrast on your honeycombs and other fades. So in that respect, yes, washing makes them more defined. However, if you constantly soak/wash you will be losing indigo which helps create that contrast and you don't allow the honeycombs enough time to set properly. You can still get solid fades by washing/soaking frequently but it is usually more difficult. So in this respect, no, it doesn't help.

soaking/washing will actually make the honeycombs less defined if you havent been putting enough wear into your jeans

Why wouldn't they? They're the same denim.

If anything they'll stretch more cause of the tighter fit, so more stress on the denim

Don't you guys get it? The more you size down, the more it stretches. Jeans fit to your body, as long as you fit in the jeans, the jeans will stretch to "it's own" comfortable fit to your body (till the point where there is low tension). Thus, if you size down, it will stretch more, if you go true to size, it will stretch less, especially at the waist area.

People size down to get a certain leg fit (skinny, slim, straight) for the cuts. Obviously there are cuts that enhance that skinny, slim, straight fit and you can size down less, but all the apc cuts can become skinny, slim or straight. Just depends on the silhouette you're looking for.
