Apologies in advance if my question is redundant.

I'm 5'9" and a 32x32. I have pretty big thighs and a bigger butt than a dude my size has any business having. I'm looking for something that's comfy in the thigh area and *slightly* baggy but nowhere near thug-overkill. Are the APC Standards or Rescues a better look? I should go down two or three sizes, I'm guessing.

Thanks for the advice.

I'm not a big dude per se. I wear size M tees with no problem. I just have big thighs from years of doing track (triple jump, sprints, etc) and I don't want a pair of jeans that'll make me look like a girl!

Get a 30. A 28-29 would be too small.

Then APCs won't be a good choice. Get the 5000s, no one ever goes wrong with those. A little pricey, but definitely worth it.

Okay, good looking out. S5000s it is, then. Should I size up/down? Does samurai-j.com ship international?

Its a good idea to size down 1, maybe true to size if your looking for a looser fit. Samurai denim stretches a good amount.

Also, I'm no expert on buying from Japan but I'm pretty sure Samurai doesn't ship international. You would need a proxy to purchase the jeans for you from 2nd or whatever store they use. An easier option would be to just order from BiG, same jeans minus the arcs and tabs. Excellent service.

What does the soaking or showering before wearing do?

For unsanforized denim, it will shrink the denim down to sz so that after you wear it in and wash it for the first time, all the fades wont shift on you do to the jeans shrinking down some sizes
Also shrinking helps denim by ridding it of factory starch, which is healthier for the fabric and helps it fall more naturally on your body, as well as shrink it if its stretch a bit too much for your liking, and helping keep down odor over the time you wear the jeans in
I highly reccomend a soak for new raw denim, unsanforized or not, for all the above reasons, and i reccomend it over showering in them, because 1)Ive never tried showering with Denim, 2)It seems alot more odd to shower in jeans than to let them soak in your tub but mayb thats just me, and 3) soaking leads to less indigo loss because of less agitation to the wet denim

lmao i feel like ive repeated everything i know about soaking quite a few times, is there not a definitive thread on it?! mayb i should make one and petition a sticky smile nt i get a new pair of denim ill definately see (if there isnt a thread/guide on it already) cool

edit: let me kill a few birds with one stone here,

for samurai denim, i believe its reccomended to go true to size, but i have no personal experience with this, just remembering what Ive read

and I think the slimmer fit down from Levis 514s are Levis 511 Skinny fit, someone correct me if i'm wrong
514 is actually my favorite cut from Levis, a very roomy slim fit, although the leg holes could be smaller

Hey I'm 5'10"...waist is 34-35...I'm an athletic dude (not real big or anything) and I was looking into purchasing some Samurais. I have some Nudie's already (Regular Ralfs) that fit me well, and fit much better after I showered with them on (it was actually pretty funny LOL)...I was wondering which Samurais would be the best pair for me to get? Thanks in advanced guys...

5000s never look bad on anybody. They're very versatile; size down 2 for slim fit, size down 1 for a fitted look, true to size for a more relaxed look. I always recommend the 5000s to anyone looking for some Samurais. They're the only jeans I've kept these past 2 years or so. I've sold everything else I've owned because the fit just wasn't on par with these.

Thanks for the advice...yeah I don't think I can size down 2...but one...I'm normally a 34 in the waist so I'm going with the 33

The Uniqlo T-000 fits VERY similar to my Nudie Thin Finns. I recommend sizing up one waist size for the T-000's.

FOR ALL SAMURAI ORDERS, YOU CAN ORDER FROM 2ND. THEIR EMAIL IS info@2nd.com (I think), AND THEY WILL SHIP INTERNATIONAL. ORDERING FROM THEM IS CHEAPER TOO AND THEY COME WITH ARCS + TABS.

Caps so people stop asking.

Hey guys. I'm currently working on New Cures. I'm about a month in, and the fit is seriously perfect for me. I usually wear a 30 waist but i got 28 in cures. I'm looking for a more high quality brand of denim with a really similar fit to new cures. Like flathead, iron heart, samurai, etc.
Thanks alot in advance smile

Yeah, I'm sorta the same deal, except I've been wearing these Thin Finn's for about a year and a half. The fit is pretty perfect, and I've heard sized down NC's would be similar, but I'm looking for something a bit better. So ditto that question for me.

Second question: are these Dukes? I've never seen them fit this slim.

Ok...I am new to the denim game.

I am a 30x32 and am looking for some nice raw denim baggy/slim-ish jeans that don't make your ass look saggy. That is if these jeans look ok with the kicks I wear. Mostly planning on rocking Half Cabs, SB's (Low, Mid, and High), Chukka's, Dunks and shoes of that caliber.

Any suggestions? Nothing to expensive...

Are Levi's 501xx ok?
What other brands are out there that aren't to expensive?

Need to go back to school fitted right!smile
