Fit Thread (for denim FAQ)

So i want a somewhat slim fit, not too tight, but not baggy at all. I have 501s right now that i'm fading and I want something ALOT less baggy. I'm going for APC's. Would new standards be the best thing for what I want? Thanks guys...

new standards would be good, maybe size down 1 or 2, if you want more relaxed head for the rescues

Yeah i always buy my jeans way too big and it pisses me off haha. I'm about 30, maybe 29. So do they make them in like.. 27 x 34? Or are they even tapered enough to get decent stacking?

I think size 29 for APC is measured as 27, and most models come with a 33" 34" inseam. good enough of a tapered leg to give nice stacking i sopuse

yea APC is vanity sized so the tagged sz is really 2+ true sz, ie: sz 28=30"

I want to get a pair of APC jeans, but I dont know what to get, the NC or the PS (petit standard). I like the levi's 511, but I've never got a chance to try on any APC jeans. I buy 30x32, and I'm 6"0, 150lbs. I'm planning to order them over the web on the APC site, but I dont want to spend like 170 and realize the fit isnt too good. However I dont think theres a store in vancouver that stocks the petit standards for me to compare the fit. Any suggestions?

new cures. size down 1. similar fit to the 511's i think

Ordering APC NS tomorrow. My waist is 32." 5'11, 175 lbs. Size down to 29 or 27? What is this vanity sizing?
Jul 20, 2008 @ 20:36
u wanna size down 2 to 3 because they're gonna stretch out a lot. go with a 30 or 29

looking to buy some lvc 1947s and want a similar fit to apc ns sz 26. which sz do you recommend for my LVCs?
Jul 20, 2008 @ 22:10
apc ns size 26 is pretty tight.. if you can fit into that take your true waist and just go down 1" if you are trying to get slim, but true to size will give you a semi slim / striaght, also these are shrink to fit.

Hey guys I'm planning on getting my first pair of raw denim, I don't wanna go all out just yet on the expensive brands so I got my eyes on the Levis 501 STFs. What size should I cop if I normally wear size 36/38?
Jul 21, 2008 @ 08:37
Size up 1 or true to waist because they'll stretch out

To answer this...

probably in the fall, im probably going to cop some sammies or some flathead 380s and wear them out during the winter.

couple of questions.

should I size down (and if so how much? ) or stay true-to-size if i decide to get s0500xx?

If I got the s5000vx, would the leg hole shrink once i soak it? would i also size down or stay t-t-s?

last question, between the brands, which is more favorable?

Most of what you posted need a SOAK to fit to your waist.
Samurai, Sugar Cane, Evisu (depending on which model) if not all models need a soak.

Flathead i believe its either true to waist or size up one with a cold soak

Alright I'm thinking of copping some APC NS..my true waist is a 32, and i want mine slim but not skinny, kind of like ryan's.
Jul 27, 2008 @ 21:20
Get some NS in sz. 30. Maybe 29 if you want a bit slimmer fit than Ryan's but not skin-tight.
