You have to iron on the starch other wise its kinda useless, I wouldn't recommended it becuase it gives a really ugly sheen to the denim and it doesn't look that great

If I use starch spray, do i have to iron anything or no? And if I just spray it, all I have to do it is just wear them so the creases come?

Are you starching the whole jean? Or certain areas such as the back of your knees?

Whenever I work on my honeycombs, I just spray a lot of starch on there and just sit for a while to set them in.
Like what sav said, ironing will just hinder the build-up of creases.

Oh alright.
What I do is I'll walk around in the denim for a while, then spray a lot of spray starch on the back of the knees until it's coated and soaked with starch.
Then I just sit down for half an hour and just watch tv or go on the computer until it's dry. Combs should come out nicely.

theres a lot of information in here about soaking and what not but i'm having trouble piecing it together for myself haha. i'm gonna get a pair of 501 i think. i want honeycombs and good fades. but i want the legs to be slimmer and the waist to stay about the same. so would the best way to do this be to not size down, and the first time wearing them, get in a hot shower of around 15 or 20 minutes, then go and wear them damp? if i do this they'll shrink to my body perfectly correct?

main reason is it increases the risk of sudden rippage in the fabric because it makes the threads in the fabric stick together
a few other reasons but thats the main one

Okay so im new to soaking denim and trying to get it to shrink and what not, i just copped a pair of sugarcane 1947's
1: do they shrink siginificantly?
2: If so how long of a soak should it be, with or without them on me?

im looking for a lil more fitted look on me, not skin tight though...
thnx for any suggestions...

does showering with your 501s and doing activity after a soak help 501s fit better?

Pretty much. No need to actually shower with them. Perhaps soak, let it dry a bit. When it's still a little damp, just put them on and take a walk. Your creases will set in and it'll dry to your body.

I bought some raw dark-coloured CMs today, and they fit perfectly. I have not worn them yet. If I soak for a couple minutes in really cold water, and then take a walk while they're damp, will they still fit me really well? I want to wear these with white shoes so I want to get rid of some of the excess dye.

initial soaks aren't necessary unless they are unsanforized.

if you just want to stop them from bleeding, tape the inside. they're still going to bleed even if you soak them.

I just got some levis red tab denim and I wanna know if a soak would stop the bleeding without messing up the pretty much perfect fit of them?
