fill empty waterbottles with water and lay it on, or do plastic bags

Wear it everyday every second. Run with them. Play baseball and make sure you slide a lot. Get some sand paper and scrap along. Rub your ass on a wall. Use your imagination.

i've had this pair of levi's for over 6 months
and i haven't washed/soaked it yet.
i think it's time to soak it.
it's starting to get a little stinky.
so do i just soak it in the bathtub for an hour
then hang dry?
and do i use detergent? if so, then what do i use?
Nov 27, 2008 @ 18:24

what kind of levi's? I think you should just wash them if they smell IMO

they're 501xx stf's
it' doesn't smell that bad.
but yeah
if i wash/soak, how do i get the creases back?
Nov 28, 2008 @ 01:15
would a hot wash also shrink the jeans a bit?
Nov 28, 2008 @ 01:33
itll shrink more then a regular soak at most

it shouldn't disappear that much with the soak. Might be gone a little bit more with the wash, but it'll shrink it down so after wearing it for a while, the creases should come back.

should i use some kind of detergent?
i'm just going to soak it
Nov 29, 2008 @ 11:28
umm I'm not too familiar with soaking with detergent so you should ask technique or somebody else

you can try to use dr bonners dark or something like that if you want to retain color and clean it, but a regular soak with just water usually does the trick

Ok, so I got a pair of Converse Khakis
They're not jeans, they're a different material then jeans
Anyways, they're a little big, and I want them to fit exactly like my Levi 511 skinny jeans
So what should I do? How can I get them to fit identically like my Levis? Soak and dry?
..My last option will just be to have them tailored
Nov 30, 2008 @ 01:40
can rubbing a coin on your creases help make fades?
Nov 30, 2008 @ 17:26
lolwut ^^^
why would you do that... just wear the jeans lmao
but yea i guess it can
Nov 30, 2008 @ 17:31
If i wanted to shrink the leg openings on my jeans, would i just hang them over the tub and let the leg openings soak?
Nov 30, 2008 @ 17:48
Anyone got an answer to my question? ^^

Raw denim shouldnt have any starch right?

If they do, how would u get rid of it? soak them?? wear them until the starch is off? sup.Thanks.
Dec 03, 2008 @ 10:23
im pretty sure almost every denim has some sort of starch attached to it..theres no way to get rid of all of it but to wear it roughly and wash it like frequently. you can soak which will help take away some starch but not all of it.

ahhh the smell of raw denimz &)
yea as Technique said wear it and forget it, itll go away after a few days or so
and as for starch, yea all raw denim will have starch initially, due to the process of making the cotton strands that make up the denim (starch helps strengthen the threads initially and helps with the weaving process into denim fabric if the threads are stiffer)
to get rid of most of the factory starch, an initial soak is best, and it will all come off with wear and more soaks/washes
I love to soak any denim before I wear it out, Sanforized or not, helps with the fit, makes the stacks fall right and is good for the health of the fabric blushing

Thanks guys about the starch.

So im about to get my pair of jeans from twelvebar tmorow, I was thinking of soaking it in cold water for maybe 20-30 minutes.. and then wearing it. Should i wear it damp? what about.. leave it to dry and then where it semi damp? Im concerned because i heard wearing it like that will really fuckup your skin.smh

you only need to soak if they're unsanforized.

I have a pair of indigo slim jim's that I've had for almost 3 months now. The fades are coming in pretty dope, but I feel like they might be getting a little baggy. I kinda wanna tighten them up, would soaking them ruin the fade or anything? Anyone have any recommendations on what to do?
