Edwin SEN Raw Selvage

I recently bought a pair of these. I usually wear a 32. These are size 32, but they feel a size or 2 big. Should I soak them to shrink them a bit? I have already started to wear them (for about a day now). Anyone know anything about these particular jeans that could give some input? thx...

The tagged 32 is what the waist should be AFTER you soak them...

Should I lay them flat in my tub with hot water? How much indigo/color will I lose? Input appreciated...

Anyone?

IDK if this applies to this pair of denim but a lot of people sit in the tub with their jeans on.. well actually nvm. That's just for the STF, which i guess doesn't apply here cuz it doesnt shrink to ur fit.. k nvm this post was useless lol

^^

acually his jeans are raw, which means they're most likely unsanforized, so he can wear them in the tub if he wants to shrink-to-fit. I wouldn't recommend that though... Just flip your edwins inside out, and give them a warm/hot soak for 3 hours (max. shrinking). Keep them in place with some empty jars so the jeans stay underwater, and change the water if it turns cold. As for the indigo loss, most of the color should stay on if you don't agitate them while they're soaking (ie. flipping them over to check on them or w/e).

Hope this helps! blushing

a 3 hour hot soak is not at all max shrinking.

you need multiple washes / dryer dryings to get max shrinkage.

yea ur right, but I didn't tell him to do that since he seemed concerned about losing indigo.

Alright thanx for the info homies. Hopefully they turn out decent.

why hot soak? You are just going to release even more dye. Fill the tub up ankle deep with cold soak with water/vinegar (helps with sealing the ink). Lay the denim out straight and put bricks on each end to hold the denim down. Dont agitate the water (or else the ink will leach). Do this for several hours.

you will experience almost no indigo loss from just hot soaking these

i know. i have a pair and i hot soaked them.

i hot soaked mine for 2 hours switching out the water around the halfway mark to make sure that it was still hot. then i threw them in the dryer for 30 mins. almost no indigo loss.

they fit great afterwards, but the waist stretched back close to its original size rather quickly.

Look decent after soaking.

I have been wearing almost everyday Edwin SEN Black Dry Selvage almost 6 months. Never wash or soak it, up to now. The waist turns bigger about 2 size. The denim surface turns waxy.
