awwwsheet, i don't know if i have read right, but did you say RMC, nudie, edwin and evisu were top notch denim?

i mean...come on man...you KNOW that ain't true if you ever touched a pair of japanese evisu or samurai jeans, just to mention the ones i know in person.

i am sure studio d'artisan, sugar cane, PBJ, oni denim, warehouse and a lot more japanese repros companies make far better denim in what it comes to quality although i have not seen them in person.

i am always here to back you up, i respect your business , but saying that is just unreal!

samurai, studio and april 77 isnt for everyone. and ive seen them all. but like everything else i dont think a stussy tshirt is worth 40 bucks. but you do. and you pay it. its it top notch? maybe it is and maybe it it isnt but rmc is def quality and so are nudies. while not a billion dollars its a different jean and a different clientelle than a april 77 and a stuido or a sugarcane. do you understand? like is a volvo a bad car? nah its a super safe car and has sick design but i woudl never buy one. same with a lamborghini and any itaian car ferrari and masterati included. does it mean its not quality?

Not to nitpick, but aren't Stussy shirts like...22 bucks? They're one of the more affordable streetwear brands around.

the thing is, samurai and all those other companies makes all different cuts you can imagine and they are in a lower price tag than most evisu's and RMC for sure(retail price for both), and they are indeed better quality, so you making those car comparisons are wrong, and it's more like comparing a toyota to a mercedes.
sure toyotas are better than most of the cars out there, but they could never get to the ankles of a mercedes.

and honestly...rmc is the biggest gimmick in jeanwear along with that year of the dog jeans ro whatever that shit is called.

now, you can say that evisu and rmc justify the price because of the brand and because they have loud designs and you want everyone to know that you are wearing 400+ bucks jeans in NYC. ok, i get you, many people feel that way, but that does not take away from the fact that they are indeed worst quality than many other companies out there.

im not taking no guff from anyone big or small.

egpt RMC is gimmicky. as are alot of other things including mercedes. your not going to get the hood to run sugarcane 1955's its just different strokes for different people

i have a pair of both. i wear neither...

I think at this point in the debate about Red Monkey Company and other Japanese denim companies, we are having a blurry definition of what "quality" is on each side of the argument.

I would err on the side of caution by saying my impression of RMC has been a pure marketing scheme with its intended audience--not to say that it's not great or anything. It just puts my impression of that particular brand/style of denim into context.

Nudies are definately not quality denim. How can you even put nudies in the same category as Samurai or SDA?
Evisu quality? Older Evis, yes. Evisu now, not even close. Ive seen fake Evisu with better quality than the Euro. Evisus. Sad.
Japanese Evisus, still have decent quality, compared to Euro.

samurai 5000VX about 5 to 6 day's a week
sugar cane hawaii about 1 to 2 days every 3 week
sugar cane union stars about 1 to 2 days every month
